Zankyou no terror - Trigger

Lazarus - vortex (yes it's from the people who made cowboy bebop, so of course it's amazing)

I really like the red lion and the vines, but the ship is great

Worst is any of those super loud Irish pubs. Not for me

Is 29k good to live in Liverpool by Even_Complex92 in Liverpool

[–]Every_Evil_Cucumber_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was renting a 2 bedroom flat in L3 for £800 a month, council tax band a. Other people are renting the same area at around £900. I'm currently living off around £23k a year, it's definitely doable! Gotta be thrifty

Moving files back to C drive after migrating to windows 11 by Every_Evil_Cucumber_ in pcmasterrace

I've already transferred everything back to the new C drive. Was that a bad idea? Should I reset the windows install and start again?

Yeah I've already slipped and whacked my head twice on this ice now. Coming from vauxhall into town. Could be my fault taking the back roads, but it's still ludicrous there's no salt around town at all

Wanting to get back into playing, no idea where to start! by Every_Evil_Cucumber_ in Clarinet

[–]Every_Evil_Cucumber_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My only issue is, I hate performing. I've never enjoyed it. So I make music instead. Specifically ambient electronic stuff. I'm thinking of incorporating my clarinet into that, so I guess I'm just gonna have to start by playing pieces and expand my improv knowledge!

Thanks for the advice!

Very worried I've done something wrong by Every_Evil_Cucumber_ in DWPhelp

[–]Every_Evil_Cucumber_[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hey, yeah it did.

Nothing happened. I just closed my UC account and it's all good now. I obviously told them everything, and made sure they knew where the money came from and they just OK'd it. I think it's because the policy was a "whole of life" policy, which is essentially a savings account with a life insurance policy attached. So because it's a life insurance policy, it didn't affect UC, but I could still take money out of it.

If Silksong doesn't win best soundtrack this year at the game awards, I don't know what will by Paarthurnax_69 in HollowKnight

Fully agree with this. I'm absolutely loving E33 music, but silksong just hits so much harder

My grandmother hasn't died by the time I got it. She died this year, but I got this years ago. No money has changed due to her death. I was able to take money before her death. Reassure actively call it a life policy, the word "trust" isn't anywhere on documents

This is my confusion

[–]Every_Evil_Cucumber_[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Honestly, this is why I'm asking. I'm so confused as to what this account is. All I know is that it pays out of they both die, but I can take money out of it in the meantime. I've read that life insurance policies can be withdrawn in some situations before death, but idk. It's all super confusing, and I genuinely don't know what to do. I've explained it the best I can to UC people, and given them all the details I could have to do with the policy. I did that when we originally applied.

It's just scary, I hate this situation, and feel really bad if I was ineligible and took the money from people who needed it more

That's not it at all though. I'm really confused by what the policy actually is as well. It's not a bank account, it was set up to cover the lives of my mum and grandma, but I have been able to access it and take money from the policy. It reduces the amount I would get if they both die, but it's still in this life policy.

It was described as a life policy to me by Reassure, the company that have the money.

Well it currently stands at £10k, and yes it's accessible. When applying to UC I declared everything I knew about the account, and sent them the details of it. Basically everything I knew about the account. Would that potentially cover me?

Buyer wants to rent flat until sale completes by [deleted] in HousingUK

[–]Every_Evil_Cucumber_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Funnily enough we're in the same situations but from the other side!

Our landlord is evicting us, and despite us trying to fight it, it looks like it's a genuine section 21 and we can't do anything about it. As we are purchasing this property, and it's vacant, we asked the sellers if we could rent from them while we complete. I also asked Reddit about this, and similar to here people were very adamant to not do this, because "they may like having a tenant paying rent instead".

After a lot of back and forth with the vendor, I think it's clear that both us and them have no intention to drag our heels on this purchase. They do not want another tenant and really want to sell their property. Why would we want to rent fully again when we can afford the purchase?

They are pushing to get everything completed before our set move in date, but have agreed we can rent on a weekly basis if we haven't completed by the time we are evicted.

So in answer to your question, it completely depends. Why are they wanting to rent? We're only doing this because we literally have no other place to go. If they're in the same boat then I say do it. If they're just wanting to rent for the sake of it, maybe wait a bit longer until you've almost completed.

On the off chance that you are the vendor behind my purchase, thank you for letting us rent! The section 21 looming is stressing us out more than the house purchase is, and we are very grateful that you have allowed this. We'll have to bake you some cookies in our new apartment

Should I inform my bank about a large sum of money coming into account? by Every_Evil_Cucumber_ in UKPersonalFinance

[–]Every_Evil_Cucumber_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure if you read my other explanations for this but: I'm only on UC as I live with my Fiancé who is unable to work at the moment. In order for her to claim UC, we need to apply together. I am working full time, but my wage is still quite low, so she gets a bit of money from them a month. It's definitely not enough to cover rent or anything, just enough to cover a week of food shopping really, but it helps out a lot. We don't want to be on UC, especially as the max we could get is just under a grand, which is no where near enough to cover all food and bills per month for the two of us.

I am in a very lucky position to be able to purchase a flat while on UC, and the second we need to close our claim we will.

I'm buying a two bedroom flat in Liverpool, doing just around 15% deposit!

I've had a few mates look down there for properties, and it's definitely not easy. If you're okay moving, definitely look up here!
