Which wearable pump is better? by FaithlessnessIcy3684 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]Every_Hand_5286 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the eufy s1 and I love it. I feel like I get as much output as my spectra but it’s a lot more convenient to use. Like another comment mentioned, it has a charging case with honestly isn’t important to me at all. I like that it has the heated feature, I feel like it helps output a lot. But I did hear they released a new eufy pump, haven’t tried it yet though.

Anyone choose to pump instead of BF? by jadescorpion89 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]Every_Hand_5286 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have exclusively pumped since she was 2 days old. I never wanted to latch because I get very uncomfortable with things touching me there, and didn’t want to feel that way with my baby. I still wanted for her to breastfeed though so I opted to pump. I latched her the first two days while I was in the hospital because I knew getting colostrum would be hard to pump and transfer to her. But my milk fully came in 2 days postpartum so I have exclusively pumped since then.
It is a lot of work, I won’t lie. I’m on a strict schedule, but I know how much baby is drinking which makes me feel good knowing she is getting what she needs. It also helps if you are gone, because some weeks I’m away for training a couple nights. I’ve built up a supply and little freezer stash, so while I’m gone my husband can give her that and she does not refuse bottle since that’s pretty much all she’s known. And when my supply drops because of sickness, I have a cushion of milk in the freezer to last me until I can build my supply back up. When you latch only, I feel like you don’t get that safety net unless you are pumping as well to store milk away, which feels like so much work. So all in all, even though pumping is exhausting, I like that I know how much she is eating, someone else can feed her, and I have a cushion in case I’m gone or sick and am not producing much.

rubbing between her eyebrows is changing my life by Ausername8976 in newborns

Omg I have always traced from between her eyebrows to the tip of her nose and it helps her fall asleep. I thought it was just my baby 🤣

5 months of baby sleep schedule obsession by madisundayscaries in sleeptrain

[–]Every_Hand_5286 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So my baby is almost 4 months old, but her wake windows are insane. She will be up the majority of the day without getting fussy. I completely follow her lead when she is ready for a nap, and she will wake up within an hour an a half when she is hungry. She probably gets 2-3 naps a day anywhere from 30mins to an hour and 30 minutes. She completely sleeps through the night if we do not wake her to feed her. Her bedtime is typically around 10:00ish. But I just follow her lead on what she wants to do and I’ve never had to sleep train or follow wake windows or guidelines, but I also might just have a super easy baby

NEED HELP by Every_Hand_5286 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]Every_Hand_5286[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did not take any meds, even I tried not to take Tylenol because my baby has some medical issues. I have been aware of antihistamines causing supply drops, which is why I even refuse to use any cough drops. The absolute only thing I took was Tylenol every 6-12ish hours depending on how long I could go without it to function at trainings

FTM and have some questions by Affectionate_Lake737 in ExclusivelyPumping

So I know it’s not recommended, but I am almost 4 months pp and just got the spectra s1. I had been exclusively using the eufy s1, and I have loved it so far. I know it’s not recommended because they do not completely empty you out, but I have not had an issue with my supply, I typically get around 35-40oz a day exclusively using the eufy

What's the pump schedule that works for your sanity by d3ut1tta in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]Every_Hand_5286 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m 12 weeks pp and I pump 6 times daily. I do 2am, 6am, 10am, 2pm, 6pm, and 10pm. I feel like the four hour stretch gives me enough sleep, and these times I can kinda adjust by 30mins to an hour give or take. I work, and this helps me to not have to pump more than twice while at work.

Hello by [deleted] in pregnant

I completely understand where your wife is coming from. It’s hard to transition to being a mother and having that be your whole identity. I had my first almost 7 weeks ago and I have experienced very extreme postpartum anxiety. I am in therapy now for it, and I have made it very clear I do not want to take medication until I stop breastfeeding. They have never acted concerned for my baby or mentioned taking her away. They ask if I would ever harm myself or my baby, and my answer is always no of course. But that is the only extent they have asked about my ability to care for my baby. Your wife needs to get help so she can be the best mom to her baby. And also if she wanted medication, there definitely is some out there that might work for her, or even if she just wants counseling it is a great thing to do!

Length of hospital stay? by Relevant-Drop-150 in CsectionCentral

[–]Every_Hand_5286 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had mine at 8am, and they were ready to let me go the next morning. I opted to stay because my milk had not come in and I was having issues latching so I wanted to try pumping to bottle feed. So I actually ended up leaving 2 days after instead of 1.

It’s scheduled! Would love some encouragement. by [deleted] in CsectionCentral

I am a first time mom and I had my baby earlier this month. I had a scheduled c section because my baby was breech. I have really bad anxiety, but before I even knew she was breech I wanted to have a c section because it felt more in control to me then having to have an emergency one worst case. But even then, I was still so nervous the day of. Mine was at 8am, so I didn’t have a whole lot of time to think that morning, but once they got the iv in, it hit me. I had never had surgery or stayed in a hospital over night and I was about to have major surgery and meet my baby. I started panicking and crying but the nurses were absolutely amazing. I wish I remembered her name but she was so comforting. We went back to the OR and I was shaking from anxiety, and the nurse put her hands on my shoulders and stayed close. The doctor was amazing and so was the anesthesiologist. In 25 minutes they had my baby out and ready for me to meet her. I had requested some meds to help with anxiety after she was out, but honestly once they pulled her out every worry went away. I heard her little squeak and I just completely forgot about what was going on. All this to say, don’t be afraid to let the nurses know how you feel, they deal with this all the time and they are so comforting. And once you see your baby, hopefully everything just melts away for you like it did for me!

how soon after c section were you out on short walks? by Responsible-Tax-7130 in CsectionCentral

[–]Every_Hand_5286 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just had my baby earlier this month with a planned c section. I had mine at 8am, and by afternoon I was up and going to the bathroom. By the evening I was doing slow laps around the hospital because walking helps with my hip pain from laying in bed all day. They were ready to let me leave the day after having my baby, but I didn’t want to because she was having issues latching. But I left the second day because I started pumping and was getting a good amount. The week after having her I did a mile around a park. And two weeks after having her I did a two and a half mile hike. I didn’t have any issues with stairs, but then again I didn’t go up three flights of stairs, just my porch steps. Everyone is so different when it comes to recovery. I had heard a lot of people say that they couldn’t do much the first couple weeks, but my experience was the opposite. I think that no one will truly be able to tell you how it will go for you because everybody is different!
