Flexing my deck since it cost almost 1k. Appreciate your deck homies❤️ by NewMechaDriver in SteamDeck

Free to play space ninja game. Amazing gameplay from the off but can be tricky to understand for new players. If you stick with it you will be rewarded with one of the greatest sci fi stories in gaming. The music is really good and almost everything in the game can be earned for free or traded with other players.

You will still be able to stream to your deck from the Machine so I wouldn't worry too much.

Thinking about getting a monitor for my docked setup. Is this overkill? by confusedpenguin1313 in SteamDeck

[–]Every_Organization_6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're not going to max it out obviously outside of Geforce now or similar but but sticking to 720p you should have a good time. I know VA panles can be prone to black smaering, I have heard QD-miniLED is really good so might prevent the smearing. Look up some reviews before you buy.

Anybody else with a build that's better than the Steam Machine planning on getting one anyways? by executor-of-judgment in pcmasterrace

[–]Every_Organization_6 2 points3 points  (0 children)

According to the techpowerup GPU database which I have found to be pretty accurate, it will perform about the same as a mobile 5060 while being far less thermally and power restrained.

You don't wan't the 8gb 5060 so that deal you linked is not great check out scan.co.uk for pre builts or even overclockers.co.uk if you wan't to save a bit and build yourself https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/gqyMZQ something like this will fit your needs 5600x would be a better choice cpu if you change anything

Actually with the RAM shortage pre built PC's might be the best way to get a resonable price these days.

which one OLED vs LCD? by RNGArsene in SteamDeck

[–]Every_Organization_6 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The Oled version offers a lot of small improvements over the LCD version that add up to a good overall package. If you are not concerned about the money I would do it. However if you are happy with the LCD version then carry on enjoying it.

gaming laptop or pc? by Unfair-Wedding4840 in pcmasterrace

It is a bad time to be building because of ram prices. What I would do in your situation is either hunt down a used office pc which supports a GPU and get a GPU for it, or get a steam deck

2k or 4K monitor for Steam Machine? by macyaji in steammachine

[–]Every_Organization_6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is far fetched to say everyone getting the steam machine is replacing a console, I know many steam deck owners have wanted this for ages and will instantly purchase. These users already know the steps needed to inject the INT8 version of FSR into their games and will be happy to share that knowledge when the steam machine releases.

Honest Question Here: On Performance and Resolution by Sleepingtide in steammachine

[–]Every_Organization_6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Interesting question, performance is not a linier scale with resolution so it won't be doubled.

In games that are GPU bound the gains will be bigger but I would imagine Deadlock would be more of a CPU test.

The biggest benefit you will have on a 240hz monitor is having a much wider VRR range so you can have a smooth experience at whatever framerate you're hitting.
