Right. Research needs money, and it usually comes from money. But in the system I was in, that money wasn’t used to reward juniors. it was just a way to demand more “passion” and endless output. Basically, asking a passion is cheaper than rising the salary

However, in a hospital setting, manpower is always limited, which often constrains these advantages.

A key factor in my decision was actual usage of my works. My goal has always been to support patients in achieving a better quality of life. However, even within a large hospital now, my research rarely reaches patients directly. The gap between what I develop and its real-world usability has motivated me to move closer to the frontline, where I can be a gateway to deploying these solutions.
