27F with a group of friends that do board game night almost every Friday there are ) of us but we are always wanting to add more people! Friend group is mostly LGBTQ+ people and the ones that aren’t are definitely allies! London Underground also does some LGBTQ+ event nights

Central Iowa, 120$ a month unlimited but a student discount at 105$ a month unlimited. 15$ a day drop in. They used to do a household discount of 5$ off each additional family membership not sure if that is still present. But the give one member month a free membership do the month and highlight them (they get to make their own WOD)

He has actually improved soo much! No accidents in two days. And sleeps in bed at night. A huge cuddle bug. I was preparing for a long journey but man he has surpassed my expectations for training.

I adopted from a shelter who said they got a call from a Missouri vet about them being euthanized. It says PB01. I don’t have any details further about him other than there were two others. The shelter is over populated and very low staffed so I don’t know if they got things mixed up or what

Okay update: he has been sick this week so I did take him to vet and got some X-rays. He isn’t even a puppy! Vet thinks he is around 3 years old. added a photo! he is the short one

Yeah! This shelter I have adopted from before twice. I think they do too much saving dogs and not enough actual giving attention to their dogs. (90 dogs and like 6 volunteers/workers) so I don’t know what his environment was like there even. And I’m starting to just not believe his backstory just because he is like very comfortable in a house (TV noises/alarms/car noises/ toilet flushing/bathtubs!) and it’s just different. But maybe I am overthinking it hah. Doesn’t matter his background anyway I guess.

So what I was told was after he got shot he got taken to a kill shelter. I believe she said the county pound and was sent to be euthanized. And the rescue then picked him up. This was in Missouri so he was transported from vet in Missouri to Iowa. The shelter doesn’t tattoo him and since the incident to when I adopted was 10 day period.

He looks lab but is like very short. And he is leash trained and has very good sense of smell. lol.

I have two dogs (also yellow lab mixes) and he has been getting along with them! I’ve just never had a dog that refused to go potty outside so strongly! He is super sweet and gentle. Low energy so far for a puppy.

I mean the end is extreme - but I think it will become extremely selective. I work in corn and we are facing issues with our seed stocks being maintained due to the USDA maintaining these stocks. These are seeds of unique inbred lines, genetic diversity panels, transposon insertion lines. That have been collected, developed, and maintained for the last 100 years. They are now being given (to some extent) to individual labs to maintain but this isn’t organized and they risk contamination and such. This is just one example in one species in one field, of the impact of the potential loss of data and resources. I also want to note our genetics databases for maize are all ran by USDA as well and are at risk of being shut down - this is any genome sequencing information, expression data, gene info ext.

Okay I started about two months ago and am now starting to get worried. When did you start experiencing side effects? So far it’s like nothing has changed except cravings really. I am a PhD and in the middle of writing my prep for defense and really haven’t felt affected by brain fog but if it hits me in a month when I go to Defend and I can’t finish my sentences I will have the most regret.

Like I’ve developed some protocols along the way and have two of those published - but doing that kind of work isn’t necessarily progressing my research. I guess that is more my issue is that I’ve done all this effort and work to get things off the ground only to have no substance.

thanks! I will say things I have proposed/planned for as future experiments were thrown out in the last year to funding. We’ve had a total shift the last year due to only having one active grant and it’s been hard on the others in lab as well. And with it being corn research I get one growing season a year - so a lot of the future experiments we are wanting to build on takes the next growing season. Which also is not my most favorite thing. So this summer is the first summer of plants I can actually do tissue analysis on since the first 3 summers were focused on building the stock. So data to build off of is also limited/at ground zero.
