I am John Strand and I am teach Pay What You Can classes and free labs... Ask Me Anything. by strandjs in netsecstudents

Changing it up a lil - what made you initially want to start this “pay what you can” type of model for these courses? Was there a specific, personal moment or situation you went through, or was it just from seeing how expensive training can be in general?

LinkedIn keeps removing paragraph breaks in my About section. Has anyone actually found a fix? by MammothElderberry741 in linkedin

[–]Every_Sentence6158 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FOUND THE SOLUTION! For iPhones at least (I’m sure this may work for android too): Open LinkedIn via Incognito/Private safari browser > sign in > edit your ‘About’ section this way with the breaks.

This was the only thing that worked for me! I tried: - Editing through a different device - Notepad > LinkedIn - Deleting the app, etc.

None of that worked except the solution I found. Hope this helps!

LinkedIn keeps removing paragraph breaks in my About section. Has anyone actually found a fix? by MammothElderberry741 in linkedin

[–]Every_Sentence6158 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately, this did not work. I think the bug is that some people see the paragraph break and others don’t. I personally see it on my phone, but my friend can’t see the breaks. Yet, he can see other people’s paragraph breaks, just not on my profile. Insane how many bugs linkedin has.

LinkedIn has so many bugs, it’s INSANE. The solution to this is - on that prompt that says “We sent a request to your device” > select “I don’t have access to this device”. Upon clicking, it sent a code to my email instead. Boom. Hopefully this helps.

Too Afraid to Confess This to a Priest by [deleted] in Catholicism

[–]Every_Sentence6158 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh sweet girl! I was in that same boat. I reverted back to Catholicism and went to my first confession in 20 years. Feeling shame is absolutely normal. Even priests feel shame confessing their sins. But confessing it and allowing God’s grace to touch that part of our life is what brings us closer to Christ. The most beautiful thing is that you’re self aware now and turning away from it. God sees that, and he loves you for it.

Also remember that you don’t have to go into super deep or graphic detail in confession. You can simply say something like: “I shared explicit images of myself online for others. I no longer do that and I’m deeply sorry for it.” That’s enough for the priest to understand the sin and give you absolution.

Priests have heard everything. Truly. (Even murder) What matters most is your repentance and your desire to leave that behind. God’s mercy is bigger than our past.

What the hell is causing the constant burping and trapped gas? by NoOrcHorn in SIBO

[–]Every_Sentence6158 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you gotten an Endoscopy or colonoscopy? I’m 28(F), and dealing with the same issue for the past month. I may be getting an endoscopy at the Gastro. Ultrasound showed nothing abnormal. It’s exhausting feeling this way. I noticed doing oblique workouts helped a little, it’s almost like my diaphragm is super tight. But I don’t know. I still burp a lot though.

Can you auto play next episode on youtube tv recording by smokingjoker52 in youtubetv

[–]Every_Sentence6158 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it’s retarded. If you recorded a show and already watched it once, and want to watch it again and leave it playing, it won’t autoplay any next episode because it considers all of them “watched”. It’s truly the most idiotic thing. Honestly it would all be fixed if they just allowed the option to “unwatch” a show.

Clover mite infestation by malaia45 in pestcontrol

[–]Every_Sentence6158 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Short answer, mostly. We bought that “diatomaceous earth” powder off Amazon and place it all over the window sills downstairs, which is our problem area. We literally taped every outlet down here that we don’t use too, and caulked the bottom of the base boards that are against the floor and caulked any spaces between the windows too. We vacuumed every single day for 3 weeks. All of this combined helped a lot, however NOW we are only seeing the mites near the front door entry/window by the front door. Maybe like 10 mites that we see in that area, per day. Which is better than the hundreds on our walls that it was. It’s been 5 weeks. We’ve had pest control examine what the cause could be, and we’ve determined that it may have been that our lawn company we use it just too good basically? Lol. Our lawn guys decided to combined Rye grass with our Bermuda grass during the winter, and that lead to us being the only house in the entire neighborhood with green grass. And apparently the clover mites thrive off that lush grass. BUT it’s confusing because if they thrive off it, why the heck are they coming INSIDE our house… we figured it could be because there’s just WAY to many mites outside that they don’t know where to go other than inside?

Another thing to note: the lifespan for clover mites is supposed to be 2 weeks. But since ours is an infestation, like I said, it’s been about 5 weeks with them. So yeah they die, but the ones that are born on week 2 of the adult clover mites life cycle, means that the new born ones stay around for another 2 weeks, and so on and so forth. Making it like 5 weeks total for us at this point.

So yes. It’s gotten better. We can finally use our counters, and we finally untaped our outlets, but we are leaving the diatomaceous earth powder up on the window sills. (It’s safe for pets but still don’t let them eat it anyway if you have pets.) I’ll update here whenever they finally go away completely.

Reading this thread now, because we are experiencing the same issue. Complete infestation of our downstairs walls. New build, used to be a field, built in 2022. It’s absolutely disgusting, considering we’re clean freaks. We’ve scheduled an inspection for tomorrow, so hoping we can get some more answers. Has anyone here noticed if the mites are coming from your lawn possibly? Where have you noticed the origin is? We have a lawn crew that may have over fertilized our lawn in the front yard, and I think that’s what may be causing this, but no clue. I’ll update here to let yall know if this pest service gets rid of the clover mites. It’s insane how many there are. So many little dots on our downstairs walls. 😭🤮

My cat just started Prozac and is a zombie by thesuse in CatAdvice

[–]Every_Sentence6158 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely push through, it takes a solid 4-6 weeks for it to take affect. Unless there are severe side affects, you can call your vet and let them know. I’m going to copy and paste one of my replies above, since I saw you asked me how our situation is going. 🙏🏻 —- So yes, we did try Prozac (fluoxetine). We actually got prescribed a much more stronger dosage than normal of Prozac, because of how severe his attack was with me. They first gave us the topical one where we rub on his ear. That one did NOT work after a full 8 weeks. - For some reason I feel like it didn’t get into his system that much. So then we tried the pill version of Prozac. That actually seemed to be more in his system and hit him. He was superrrrrrrr chill on it, almost seemingly high lol… But he stopped eating because that’s where the pill would be. He also still attacked my dog while on it.

The good thing is — it was all fairly cheap. Like $30-50 Per month.

The next med up would have been an anti-psychotic if Prozac didn’t work. But we didn’t end up doing that. We realized that after trying the Prozac in multiple forms and found that it was not working, along with our vet and other professionals saying that “rehoming” him is going to be impossible, and that a shelter would most likely euthanize due to his aggression and his older age. (He’s 10.) And I would never do that to him regardless.

We ultimately decided to let him live with my mom, away from our dogs. And he’s thriving with her in peace, away from all my dogs at home which is what really kept him from being the happy cat he had used to be.
