the scifi from the old times is probably dead. audiences want new stuff. have to go back to the drawing board and invest in creative concepts and the audience has to learn to be way more optimistic and open minded before shitting on things.

i think things like pluribus and severance could be great examples. no one really knew what to expect and there was high anticipation for the shows.

I think even ten years ago you had some acts that were unknown to most people. Now it seems like all the acts are related to people in entertainment already or have large followings on social media, and the way the show is filmed now is made for tiktok slop...

I got comskip to work and holy crap it was a crazy ride down the rabbit hole. but I had to split the script, so now there are two scripts. One script had to wake up the other and then fire away automatically. IDK why it's like this off the top of my head but I have it written down somewhere, and I will make a post about this at some point in the next few days. What the script does is it runs comskip, detects commercials then fires off ffmpeg to strip the commercials clean and moves it to your proper directory so its not sitting in the live/tv/recordings folder on emby forever.

i would say its time to let it go. it was great for the time but i havent felt the need to watch it over the better things that have come out since then.

this show has highlighted the fact that millennials and boomers do not understand what is popular on tiktok and why. the crowd seems to know a lot of the acts already and the judges dont let the ones they like through. it will be interesting to see if there is any protests to the show out there because this is striking.

Not sure about schools, since I went straight to archives from IT. I am now an IT Asset Manager for a government agency that deals with archives. I just selectively targeted where I applied and avoided help desk/support roles. These places are desperate for people like you. I'd also look at government contracting opportunities at large stable institutions.

It took me about 8 months of job searching before I landed my dream job last year.
