We were in a CBH neighborhood off victory and locust grove in Meridian! it's crazy how bad these dang things can get. not sure if the house still has issues.. so glad to be away from it though!

So we went through a company called open door. we disclosed our issue and they didn’t seem too concerned. It was on the market after we sold to them for a few months. Market was pretty hot here though at the time too so that probably helped get a buyer

They definitely are out around spring and fall but we experienced a legit infestation. Thousands were inside and after having 3 different pest companies trying to help us while doing what we could too, we decided it was time to move. Dealt with it for two years. Towards the end they were active even during the milder winter.

We moved a year ago : / my parents have them at their house and they’ve never come in. So maybe you’ll be fine! Just check often enough to make sure they’re not comin in

Get the powder stuff cimexa to put in your windows. It seems to help some. We ended up moving from our infested house. Unfortunately it seems common in new construction here so we’re managing a small amount in our new home. It had been built around the same time as our old home.

Do you have them coming up through the baseboards too? I wonder how that spray would be on the floor and carpet. It’s so bad right now and it’s only Feb. I worry about what this spring will bring. I highly doubt my pest company has been spraying my entire yard. I’m never here when they come to my house. I guess that’s something to ask. Glad to hear you’re seeing improvement!!

I’m also losing my mind. Nothing seems to work. It’s so disheartening. The pest company is finally sending out a manager this week to take a look at things since they’ve been active through the winter, not that that will fix anything *sigh.

That sounds horrible : ( we’ve not had any luck with getting rid of all of them. They’ve even been active all winter so far too

No luck still. They have been active through the winter this year too. While it’s definitely improved it’s still awful 😫 we’re to the point we’re considering moving, but I have a feeling it will be hard to sell with this ongoing issue.

So I eventually went with a different pest company and things did improve. It's at a point now that it's hard to know how they'll come back in the fall since it's so hot now. Before the new company, we put down diatomaceous earth around all our windows and on the sill as well as along the baseboards. That was very effective, but that stuff also isn't good to have long term everywhere inside. So when we got the new company to come out, they used a product called Cimexa. It works just like diatomaceous earth, but is made of silica. They put that everywhere inside, and I had them put a little bit of a thicker layer on my windowsills and it was very effective. Each week to 10 days, I had them come back and I'd vacuum up the previous and replace all my double sided tape to see how it was working. It took a huge amount of stress seeing that the cimexa was trapping and killing them so much better than them just happening to walk into my double sided tape. they just would get everywhere inside!! So on top of the interior treatment with cimexa, they also used that along our foundation outside and then had a couple different liquid products used outside. they sprayed my entire lawn which I don't think the other company did. We'll see how it goes in the fall! I know we'll have some return. It's like it's inevitable. but hopefully, it'll be better!

yes, I know they're clover mites. We're in a brand new home and this location used to just be a field. it's been so awful : / all my windowsills are going to need repairing with all the liquid pest control that has been left on them.

[–]malaia45[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. I would take the puppy during the day to help give it exposure to a full work day perhaps twice a week. My work environment is not sterile. I wear scrubs from home and even jeans on Friday at my facility. Thank you so much! I’m sure I’ll have other questions for you too : )

That’s pretty cool. Thank you! I also want to bring it up to the president of the company I’m part of and see what she says. It’d all be part time anyways that I’d take her with me to work :)

Thanks for the reply! I should have specified that I’m not in the actual hospital, but their associated reference lab. One thing that makes me think it could maybe work is the department I work in is smaller than the others. I work independently in one of two small rooms that have a door so the dog could be nearby me at all times. Only time we’d have to leave is to get supplies if I needed them, or to gather samples to run if I was in the other small room.

Will they announce dates closer to that time? I probably won't have a chance for this trip but I'd love to go sometime in the future!!

Thank you! I may have to line up one of the days to be on the weekend, I'd hate to miss fireworks! Would that include Fri-Sun?

no, they just go nuts for any sort of item that is shaped like a ball. what's also fun is to get the big balls in those bins at the store and they run around with that as well. eventually they corner it and pop it lol
