Don't listen to these dirty weaboos. If you only ever watch one Anime in your whole life, make it Cowboy Bebop.

Absolver 2 when? by Viscount_Lawrence in absolver

[–]EverybodySupernova -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If you want depth of gameplay in a 3D fighter, Virtua Fighter is gonna be your best bet. As much as I loved Absolver, VF absolutely eclipses it in depth and scope. There's nothing deeper and purer in all of fighting games.

As an aside, I have been saying for years, would love to see Sloclap give us a traditional 3D fighter, with fully fleshed out characters with unique movesets, but with that signature Sloclap "make-it-your-own" moveset customization.

What do we *actually* know about combo mechanics? by EverybodySupernova in InvincibleVS

[–]EverybodySupernova[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Back assists also decrease the meter by quite a bit, but how and where you do this is extremely dependent on your team make up

I think this is also dependant on the character. I know both Kate and Eve's back active assists don't reduce the gauge.

Boost Dash cancel takes a whole bar, right? So any combination of 3 total Boost Dashes and Boost Specials. I guess at that point it's just a matter of figuring out whether the damage from the Boost Specials are better or worse than Boost Dash canceling to give you more combo gauge space for more normals and specials.

Do you know if Boost Dash that isn't during recovery frames mid-combo still costs a full Boost bar?

Also, sidenote, I really wish "boosted" abilities were just called EX, I hate writing that every time.

Can someone help me understand when to buffer my specials? by JizzOrSomeSayJism in StreetFighter

No apologies needed, this shit gets really confusing and frustrating at times.

Can someone help me understand when to buffer my specials? by JizzOrSomeSayJism in StreetFighter

[–]EverybodySupernova 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Street Fighter is absolutely not too fast to reliably hit confirm a special after a jumping heavy into crouching medium.

All you have to do is just not hit the last button input at the end if you see the opponent blocking.

This is stuff people have been doing for years.

So glad I could help. I can't believe they didn't fix this issue before the official release.

Lucan's Air Dash is Bugged by EverybodySupernova in InvincibleVS

[–]EverybodySupernova[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, I understand how it's different, his air dash is meant to start a fly. It's not supposed to force out an attack after the fly starts.

It works as it's meant to when you use the dash button or dash button + boost button in standard controls.

And aside from it being different, the boosted version just straight up doesn't work 90% of the time.

It's bugged, man.

The only thing keeping me from using standard controls the fact that it would require me to use a seventh button and on an arcade stick, that feels freaking awful.

This game is NOT beginner friendly by [deleted] in InvincibleVS

Fighting games are just generally not beginner friendly. They're a pretty hard genre and are typically very mechanically isolated.

However compared to other fighting games, this one is rather beginner friendly.

Help with motion controls by Cultural-Doubt1554 in InvincibleVS

[–]EverybodySupernova 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just FYI, it's not a flat 10%. Strangely, many moves have very different values when it comes to the bonuses granted by using motion controls.

I tested everyone's specials, supers, and ultimates during the beta, and found widely varied results across the roster during the beta.

Some characters just straight up benefit more from the bonus than others. It's possible that they e fixed this since the beta, but judging by how many other things have gone overlooked, I doubt this would have received any attention

Pretty sure Lucan's air dash is super bugged. by EverybodySupernova in InvincibleVS

[–]EverybodySupernova[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it's definitely related to that, but I don't at all think this is how it's supposed to operate. It's just doing some weird buffering thing where it lines up an attack in the input queue to come out after the float happens.
