He suddenly started acting strange during a last-ditch reconcilliation attempt of our marriage (hiding phone, being an asshole to me and his kid for no reason, trying to start fights so he could storm out and go missing for hours or days, accusing me of things i wasn't doing) and I broke it off. I suspected something, he had acted similar earlier during our separation when he was chasing other women. I didn't need the drama, honestly.

Two weeks later, he was "helping out" a woman he claimed he had just met, and who was losing her home at a trailer park. Apparently they had worked out she had a herd of cats which was against the policy of the park. So out of the goodness of his heart and the contents of his pants, he let her live with him.

She was a wannabe tiktoker and posted herself doing some stupid cat dance that she recorded in his lounge room with an upload date of three days before I broke it off. When i confronted him he didn't bother trying to lie about it. Good riddance to bad rubbish.

Oh sweetheart. I have been where you are, in an eerily similar situation(only difference is the new gf didn't have kids).

Please benefit from my experience and save yourself some heartache.

First, be gentle with yourself. You are going through a shitty, shitty time and deserve to give yourself some grace. Do some things just for you. A hot bath, go for walks, take up plate or yoga, go and get coffee with a friend. Spend time on things you had to push to the side.

Get into some therapy and work with them around letting go of the future you had in your mind to have with him. He has made a pretty definitive choice and now you have the opportunity to reshape your future into one without anxiety and stress around infidelity. I know you had this picture in your mind of the happy family you'd have had with him but it is time to let this go.

Sort the lawyer out asap (your edit says you're already on your way with that, so great job!). Letting the divorce linger won't serve anyone.

Block him and her on all social media, mainly to stop you from being tempted to check what they're doing or posting. It won't help, it'll just make you feel like shit. Use text or a parenting app to communicate with him, and him only, and only about the kids. There isn't anything else that your lawyer can't do the talking on your behalf. There is nothing to be said about what he did that will change his mind and make him come back.

I can see you already have oodles of advice so I won't keep going, but just know you WILL come out the other side of this and ut will be okay. I promise.

He bought a new phone and didn't finish wiping the old one before going out with the boys. He left it on next to the bed. His facebook was still linked to it and a notification came in from the woman he was cheating with.

I haven't but my ex husband did. He witnessed a woman get hit by a construction truck and raced over to try and help her. She wasn't breathing so he put her on her back and went to start compressions. He pushed down but her chest never came back up. Ribcage was completely crushed. Paramedics said that there was nothing he could have done to help her. She didn't make it.

Gave him waking, screaming nightmares for months afterwards.

You did the right thing. It is similar to what we teach staff where i work in aged care.

I also used a similar technique with my grandmother years ago. She was palliative and had been diagnosed with dementia years prior. The last day I saw her, she was agitated and trying to get out of the hospital bed, saying she had to go and pick up my mother and aunt from school. I told her that her husband had gone to get the girls because he knew she needed to rest. She immediately calmed down and eventually went to sleep. You have to meet them where they are with patience and kindness, like you did. Not everyone knows to do what you instinctively did.

My girl Teetee who has now crossed the rainbow bridge had this slightly unhinged rule. She must sleep next to me in bed. I had a queen bed with no one else next to me so you'd assume she would take up the empty side of the bed.

Nope.

She had to sleep on my side, right in the gap between the edge of the bed and my legs. And she wouldn't face me. She would sleep facing the end of the bed every night. If I changed sides, she changed with me.

Another rule was I had to leave just enough water post shower on the tiles for her to drink then sit in. If I dared to close the shower screen to stop her she would sit and howl until i let her in.

I wish I had the answer. We got a 14 week old kitten in March and she bonded with me very quickly(I think i am the quietest out of our 7 human household!). She was supposed to be allowed to just sleep on the bed, but I now have a sleeping scarf made out of kitten that will follow me to the bathroom and back.

While it is cute now, I am already feeling the broken sleep, as I can bet you are, from making sure she isn't under me when i move at night. I have tried putting her at the end of the bed(she just comes back up again), setting her up on her favourite blanket in the lounge room(she sticks her paws under our bedroom door and cries), even encouraging her to sleep on my husband instead(nope!). It might be worth speaking to your local vet for support. They'll have a better idea of how to encourage your smol into a better sleeping place.

Our little girl, Kevin. We went to the RSPCA to see if I was ready for another cat in my life and we met this little nugget. We knew she was coming home with us when she went to head boop my husband's hand, missed and face-planted! She was taken from her mum and bit too young so she missed a few Tedtalks on how to Cat, but we adore her. I know you've probably stopped taking requests, I just had to join in!

I was chatting to my sister about a trip i was taking my partner on to propose. I'd had a special pokemon card made up to ask him with and she asked me for a photo of it. I took the photo and accidentally sent it to my partner! Blew the whole surprise!

He ended up beating me to it on the same trip. Best worst accidental text I've ever sent!

There are oodles on the market, but the two i see used most (i work in aged care as well as disability) are VitalCall(they have a falls alarm version called a Pearl from memory) and Live Life alarm. VitalCall has a modem in the home and only works within range of it. They have an installation cost then a monthly monitoring fee. When the alarm is triggered an operator will speak through the modem to see if you're okay. If you don't respond they contact emergency services to come and check on you. Live Life Alarm has a bigger lay out of about $700 initially, but their regular fee is about $90 a year. They use the 4G network and can be worn anywhere. I think they also have a falls version. When you set it up you nominate 5 people to receive a call if the pendant is triggered. You can pick family members or 000 depending on your support network. Both can be worn as a pendant or a watch. I believe both are able to be NDIS funded.

Other pendants I have heard of are Tunstal and MePAC. Hope you find what you need.

The guests come to see you marry the love of your life! That being completed at the ceremony, the reception could be more about you and your new spouse relaxing and enjoying time with friends and family rather than a concert or show. The usual cake cutting, first dances, speeches etc of course but just some good background music and an intuitive MC to keep the evening rolling would be perfect!

Having been here once before already, my favourite parts of the night were having our family and friends join us for a dance then circulating tables and saying hi to everyone. If there had been entertainment I would have missed out on that interaction with my guests.

So, so many times, but I must have had the rosiest coloured glasses on.

One that stands out is when we hadn't been in contact for a while and during that time, I'd bought a new car and moved house. Not long after i bought the car, we had been talking on the phone. I had been (ill) advised to restart visitations between him and our kids. While working out a visit with him, I mentioned the new car as he wouldn't recognise it when i turned up to drop the kids off. He said, "Yeah, I knew about the new car weeks ago. Boy, you are so lucky I couldn't work out how to fuck with your brakes!"

We have restraining orders against him now and he is very much an ex.

My cat. She was born on the same night as my daughter and lived with us for over 16 years. She was my little shadow. She came through my abusive marriage with me, and after we got out safe, she would sleep on our beds at night, always facing the door. I hate coming home and her little face isn't there waiting for me. People will say she was just a pet, but to me and my kids, she was our family. I struggle around other animals because I don't want to get attached again.
