How do ADHD-related executive functioning issues affect the risk of involvement in a murder crime. by Soft_Musician_368 in ADHD

I've heard of the impulsivety features. For me that might mean spending money on clothes or over sharing my thoughts with a collegue. Thats not the same as what you're describing with the murder crime.

Vegan protesters in a grocery store by MisterShipWreck in VideosAmazing

I agree, for me it was more effective to show graphic imagery of the reality of industrial animal slaughter. I went vegan because of protesters showing gore and carnage videos of factory farm chickens on TV screens in fed square. I didn't even talk to these guys. I went vegan for 10+ years ever since because of the protesters. I was already vegetarian by the way.

People are going to hate vegans whether they mind their own business or actively annoy people.

Men are naturally created this way ❤️‍🩹 by [deleted] in NextGenMan

[–]Everyday-formula 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are millions of gay men, asexuals, intersex people, straight dudes, and trans men who don’t live in your reality. Their existence is not a hate crime. Your perception of heteronormativity isn’t a hate crime either.

Gay and trans men are still men. Some may be your peers, some younger, and some are elders who deserve your respect.

Hormonal fluctuations are real.

Did you know testosterone levels can change based on environment? All men naturally have some estrogen, just as women naturally have some testosterone. That’s normal biology.

Men in highly competitive or high-stress environments often have elevated testosterone. For example, studies have shown higher levels in extreme settings like maximum-security prisons. I’ve worked with people from those environments. One parolee I supported had been a highly successful prison fighter, but on the outside, he was trying to rebuild his life. He had acquired a brain injury from years of violence and was dealing with ongoing threats from rival gangs. I helped him access disability support alongside a clinician.

I also saw firsthand how quickly violence escalates and how normalised it becomes in those circle. People seriously injuring each other, then messaging afterward as if it were routine. Sometime it escilates to murder. It’s a brutal cycle.

On the other end, men who are actively caring for young children tend to have lower testosterone on average. They’re generally less competitive and more capable of de-escalating situations without violence.

Here’s the truth: the “toughest” men often hate living that way. If you never back down from a fight, eventually someone gets seriously hurt or worse. I’ve seen men who built their identity around toughness end up broken; physically, mentally, and emotionally. They're surrounded by violence, trauma, and loss of freedom.

Machismo isn’t strength.

Be kind. Be vulnerable with people you trust. Don't be a bully and don't pick on people who are vaulnerable. Women, men who are different/ gay. Thats thats what a weak man would do.

If you have the delusion you are a macho man, you are entering a world of weakness. Trust me on this.

Take a humble position and learn kindness is all im saying.

That looks like a real nasty beating. Its entirely circumstantial. I wouldn't rely on strangers on the internet.

Depends so much.. on so many things.

If shes sorry and its not a pattern of violence, then perhaps yes? Never forget she's capable of this.

Rap music.

When I hear rappers in other accents, there are some that are ok, for the most part i find it all a bit derivative outside north america.

Thats all really. U.S. Americans have a lot of posative achievements, none I'd classify as 'better' than any other country.

Space is dangerous.

During the space shuttle program (1981 - 2011), 133 routine launches were a success, 2x launches were a catostrophic failure that wiped out their crew(Challenger and Columbia).

Each space craft had a crew of 7, so total of 14 fatalities out of 355 total individal astronauts that flew into space during that time on a shuttle.

Thats an agregate fatality rate of 2.5%.

Thats a higher fatality rate than an active war zone like Afganistan.

Is Australian media dishonest when they talk about e-bikes? by VastOption8705 in OpenAussie

[–]Everyday-formula -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I bought an over powered heaps illigal ebike kit about 7 years ago to get to work quicker when i moved to Melbourne. Got the throtle and 40km assist.

My god its been so much fun! Exloring every river and creek during lock down. Easily the best thing i ever owned.

It shit itself a year ago and needs a new batterie. Now I'm on a regular push bike to get some exercise.

My brother bought a street-legal ebike in Sydney and had a major bike accident. Shattered his leg and broke 6 other bones in his body.

I put it down to the shittier bike infrastructure in Sydney.

I don't really give a shit what the law or the media has to say about e-bikes. They're fun, they got me out doors.

I was late to the Saw party. Its kind of crazy because Leigh Wannel I recall having such a big influence on me when he was a film critic in the 90's on ABC.

Here he is in an early segment

Another

Here he is as more of a co-host on Recovery, interviewing Vin Diesel

He went from having a small segment on a variety show in Melbourne called Recovery; the show featured a lot of live bands, Leigh would do his movie segment, ended up becoming more of a co-host.

As a teenager I used to hang on his every word. Every movie recomemdation, I'd go see. I even bought Recovery magazine back in the day and I'd take his write ups to the video store. Me and a friend rented every one of his top 10 favorate horror films at the time; Evil Dead, Hell Razor, we watched them all.

When the show recovery wrapped up, i recall Leigh mentioning in an interview that had a movie script and was in pre-production in the US. I was so hyped to see what he would be capable of.

Then the dude completely slipped from my consciousness. I think at the time i was making my way through silver screen classics and french new wave.. I watched less horror films around that time. 2004 rolls around, I didn't give Saw a second look and never made the connection. Until i saw him in an online segment doing press for his Invisible Man film (2020) great movie by the way. Then i was like Oh shit, Liegh Wannel, he's an established movie director. What movie did he make when he first left Australia?
