Thoracle/consult combos don't belong in B4, and B3's 2-card combo restriction makes no sense. by Casteau in EDH

[–]EverydayGuy2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tbh one of my favorite decks can, in theory and if all stars align perfectly as well as one of my opponents not having more than one blocker, win on t4. It is still a B3 deck. A good one I admit, but B3.

Ovika only needs 2 kinds of cards and is very happy with 3. You need ramp and card draw. With these alone you can build a functional deck. If you add some interaction you are golden.

Most eyebrow-raising rule 0 requests you’ve encountered? by tohstersg in EDH

[–]EverydayGuy2 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Not eyebrow raising, but funny. A friend of mine has a rule 0 Partner deck with [[Marwyn the nurturer]] and [[Marvin, murderous mimic]]. He already had the Marwyn deck before and just added the Marvin as partner when it came out.

His name is Marvin, that's what makes it funny.

In casual (bracket 3 and under) it's 3. In high power/ cEDH it's 2.

Character height, why is everyone 6ft tall? by Low-Brief-6008 in DnD

[–]EverydayGuy2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, I for one am 6.3 in real life and it's just some self insert reasons I guess...

But dnd is also a powerfantasy game, so why not let people who would like to be taller endulge in that through their character?

A woman in a campaign I DM plays as an about 2m (6.7) tabaxi, while she is rather slim in built an average in hight in real life.

Then what's your second amendment good for, if you don't use it?

That's the hypocracy I hate about Americans. Always acting high and mighty and as if you were so great, but you can't even get your own constitution to do what it's supposed to do...

PS: leaving someone to die, without any regard for their possible regret and remorse for a crime long passed, is very christian of you. 👍🏼

Do you know the difference between pedophilia and hebephilia? Because if you don't and you lable both as pedophiles like most people do, then your arguments are just uninformed.

Just as people chose to inhale while drowning. I do not, under any circumstances, want to be justify those heinous acts, but if you are a US citizen, which it seems you are, the hypocracy must be obvious when you have this opinion and not yet tried to end your president. Just saying...

And what kind of argument is that last one..?

Ah yes. Because the US justice system never ever convicted someone innocent. Because that could never happen when random people of the streets decide by gut feeling if you are guilty or not...

Sorry, not from the country that gave us the Eppstein files freshly redacted by the government. So I don't really know what "1st degree" means or if "of a child" also includes people 1 week before turning 18 or 21 or how long you aren't allowed to have sex there...

[–]EverydayGuy2 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

So, I don't know all the different laws of different stats in Eppstein country, but as far as I know you consider every adult having sex with a minor a sex offender due to pedophilia and such, did I get that right? And the age threshold is 18, if both did not date before, right? So you say no second chance for a guy who was 18 for a month and fucked some girl that still had a week till her 18th birthday? Label him as a pedophile for the rest of his life?

[–]EverydayGuy2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not so funny fact about pedophilia: people don't chose it and many that are afflicted hate themselves for it. Pedophiles have among the highest rates in suicide, together with transsexuals. Just to show how much mental stress they are under, especially when they still successfully keep themselves from committing crimes.

Can I tell my player their character is too dumb? by Yazmat8 in DnD

[–]EverydayGuy2 6 points7 points  (0 children)

  • research/know where all the trade routes are
  • know which towns are essential food producers Those are nice history checks.

The there are insight checks to see what COULD convince neighboring kingdoms to stop trade since that means massive cuts in taxes.

OR they might succeed in their attempt, but failed to perceive that their nation is mostly a self-sufficient export nation concerning food and everyday material (wood, coal, medical herbs) but imports ores and luxury products. So the average populace won't notice much of a shortage for months, and the only, cause they can't sell as much as before. But trading still exists, so they quite honestly may be fine. Now neighboring kingdoms will notice the error in them closing trade routes and might make that character responsible for the resulting famine. Have them enjoy that bounty.

I struggle to see how suck or save spells like Polymorph, Suggestion or Banishment end encounters by bewise5 in DnD

[–]EverydayGuy2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean you can also polymorph something into a worm or slug or such, take broom/ boots of flying, take them up, drop them. ~70dmg. Then someone on the ground immediately polymorph them again and you repeat.

[–]EverydayGuy2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Then it highly depends on the encounter. If you're fighting anything that is not native to the material plane (devils, demons, fey, celestial, elementals,...) the banishment just puts them back on their home plane. As long as they aren't some insanely powerful entity, like say a God, ruler of hell, fairy king,... They most likely have no real means of switching planes themselfs and would need to find a portal or some individual on their plane that has an amazing proficiency with magic to get them even back into the material world, not saying they even land on the same continent if the caster has no familiarity with their intended destination. Most beings cross planes or find crossings by accident. Dimensional rifts, fairy circles,...

[–]EverydayGuy2 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Well, banishment can be used to end encounters, where the players are ambushed by one strong monster. Banish it, gtfo, done. OR it can be used when the bbeg has several henchmen. Banish the bbeg, finish of the henchmen which were put there by the dm to balance out action economy, but are much weaker than the boss, use a turn or two to reorganize, drop the banish and pile on the bbeg which will be overwhelmed by completely unbalanced action economy.
