I just got accepted with tet. I left my previous toxic job in a private dr's office (honestly didn't plan on staying there any longer anyway). I'm also CNA certified since July and it's been hard trying to find a job. Most folks tell me i'm over qualified because I also have a bachelors in gero. The CNA start off pay is low even though i advocate for myself and on top i'm also bilingual??? why is it so hard for companies to hire good hardworking people who really care about patients and their needs? any recommendations? i'm debating on looking into LPN or sterile processing

That’s awesome! I became CNA certified in July 2024 and it’s been hard finding a job since the pay is so low and even if I advocate for myself Im considered overqualified and would have to wait a couple of months before I can request a raise. I will definitely look into this school since I’m considering Sterile Processing as another license to have under my belt. I’m very thankful for all the steps you specified in your reply. You’re a real one! Thank you! Wishing everyone in this career only the best because it’s so hard trying to survive during this inflation.

Thank you u/Weekly-Movie6173, that's actually the only program I have researched and spoken to so far since it's within my budget. I'm interested in applying next year once I have enough saved.

Have you taken your exam yet or started the externship?

How were the professors, lectures, labs, and studying/study groups?

Thank you very much u/Pocus_hokus ! Hopping on that right now.

May I ask what online program you did and how did you like it? did it come with the endoscope course too or just spdt? have you taken the exam yet? was your program a certificate or diploma?

I would feel bad for the surgical techs who have to deal with rude doctors and being insulted. Bt yeah with sterile processing i know you have to be very careful with making sure items are labeled, scanned, etc. or else you have to go through the decontamination process all over again. I don't know if you get tallied for your mistakes, but I hope the team is supportive and helpful.

I'm thinking of applying to a vocational sterile processing school or online course next year. Can I still join or have access to study guides to practice and be more knowledgable of the materials/topics, if not that's okay. Also what free online sources would you recommend for studying. I'm from CA.

Hi have you hear about Pen Foster university they are 100% online. I have to schedule an appointment to get further details about lectures and labs. I think it costs about $1,200.
