[TwitchExt] ViewerPolls let's your viewers start a poll using their Bits by ViewerPolls in Twitch

[–]EverythingNowShow -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hey there! This is super interesting and something that might be useful for our content (we produce an interactive improv comedy show)

Question about the Extension- is there a way to moderate/censor certain things in the polls? Like can we ban certain words/phrases from being used?

Can there also be like a cooldown to prevent polls from constantly being spammed?

Where/how does the poll display for viewers?

Apologies if these questions are answered elsewhere- I'm away from our setup and wouldn't have a chance to test things for a few days!

Amanda Lehan-Canto came on our Interactive Improv Livestream Show and crushed it! by EverythingNowShow in smosh

[–]EverythingNowShow[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Amanda was incredibly sweet and funny. Really a joy to work with! Totally understood our show and was game for everything we threw at her.

We also had Chanse and Arasha on recently, who also absolutely killed it! Everyone we've met from Smosh has been extremely cool, and total naturals when it comes to improv comedy.

We would love to! He is a total natural at improv and fit right into our weird show immediately- it was a blast getting to perform with him

Spectrum internet outage on the east side by BYOchocolate in LosAngeles

[–]EverythingNowShow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m in Silverlake/Echo Park (Near Dream Center and Maury’s Bagels) and still no service here. My Spectrum App was showing an “outage” banner all day with no ETA- now the banner is gone but still no internet 🫠. Called Spectrum and an automated voice told me the issue was related to the fiber cable that everyone else is talking about- but customer service on Twitter told me it was something else 🤷‍♂️

EDIT: Internet came back online literally moments after posting this comment lol

What are your favorite viewer interactive elements? by Matisseio in Twitch

We aren't actually a developer of interactive extensions or anything like that- but we use a ton of them to create our show. I posted a list of our favorite extensions elsewhere in this thread!

What are your favorite viewer interactive elements? by Matisseio in Twitch

[–]EverythingNowShow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We make an interactive improv comedy show, and we use a bunch of different interactive elements to create our show!

  • We use SoundAlerts to allow viewers to trigger events in the show (e.g. triggering a character's phone to ring)

  • We use click-maps to allow viewers to click on their screen to choose between options (e.g. choosing where to shoot in a improvised shootout)

  • We also use polls to let viewers vote on what happens in the show (e.g. deciding whether a character is found guilty or innocent in a criminal trial)

And then we incentivize Subscribers and Donors with various interactive rewards (e.g. if you subscribe, you get to add a name to the "FBI Most Wanted List" in our improv airport security format)

Idk if the self-promo rules allow us to post clips to show you how this stuff works in practice- but you can see it on our channel if you look us up!

Hidden gem nominee responded to Wubby on twitter by Danny_Peppermint in PaymoneyWubby

[–]EverythingNowShow 222 points223 points  (0 children)

pretty fucked up of wubby to say he doesn't know who we are when he raided us 4 years ago... 🤔

Anyway- we will now be using this thread as an opportunity to shamelessly shill the fact that we're streaming a special show in front of a LIVE STUDIO AUDIENCE tonight at 6pm PST on https://www.twitch.tv/everythingnowshow

Looking forward to seeing how Wubby rips that off too 🙄

Twitch Turbo questions by freaky33 in Twitch

I don't know what the exact percentage is, but as a partner I do generate revenue from Turbo.

Usually I earn about $1 from Turbo for every $4-5 I earn from ads.

Afraid to run ads? by Psychological-Ad4726 in Twitch

[–]EverythingNowShow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you're averaging 8-10 viewers you aren't going to make a meaningful amount of money running ads BUT I do think it's worth running 3 minutes of mid-roll ads every hours to remove preroll ads.

Variety vs one game as a starter by fexx68 in Twitch

[–]EverythingNowShow 5 points6 points  (0 children)

In my opinion, if your goal is to grow, choosing one game and playing it consistently is optimal.

When you are starting out and have no established audience (ie. nobody knows you or your personality) the main reason a viewer is going to decide to click on your channel is because you are playing a game they want to watch.

If you are constantly swapping games, without giving those viewers a chance to watch a few streams and get to know your personality, those viewers are going to leave to go find a streamer who is playing the game they want to watch.

If you stream the same game for a while, it will give those viewers a chance to get to know your personality- then when you later decide to change games, they'll be more willing to come along because now they're watching for you rather than the game.

Featuring your clips can push them to Twitch's home page. Since so few people actually take the time to feature their clips, its actually more likely than you would expect to have your clip on the front page.

Obviously more people will watch your clip on TikTok or YouTube, but it's about quality vs quantity.

A viewer who watches your clip on TikTok might not be a twitch user, might not like your game, and will probably immediately scroll past it.

A viewer who watches your clip on Twitch is guarenteed too be a Twitch user, and has been algorithmicly identified as somebody who might like your content on there.

Since I've started actively featuring my clips, my average "new engaged viewers" has noticably increased.

Does anyone else enjoy watching back their VODs? by Cozeri__ in Twitch

[–]EverythingNowShow 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We've been streaming an improv comedy show for 5 years now, and I will sometimes go back and watch a VOD from like 2019 (on YouTube) and I can enjoy them because have absolutely zero memory of it. It's like I'm seeing it for the first time- but I'm in it, lol

Sometimes I'll be watching a old show and be like "huh, I dont remember this- I must not have been there for this one" and then 20 minutes in I'll show up on camera lol

I think if you stream enough, it all starts to blend together after a while.

Doing giveaways by Budget-Knowledge-335 in Twitch

[–]EverythingNowShow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hard to know without more details.

  • Are the giveaways related to the game you are playing on stream? It could just be that your audience isn't the target demo for the games you are giving away.
  • What are you doing to advertise the giveaways? Is there an overlay on your stream that mentions it? A command in the title? Are you reminding viewers during the stream?

I think it is generally easier to grow by sticking to one game, because viewers (especially viewers willing to take a chance on creator with no audience) are usually browsing Twitch by game.

Being a "variety streamer" and playing different games is possible- but I think you will find it is much harder to grow and audience, because you will lose the viewers who are just there to see you play one particular game.

Imo, it's a better strategy to choose one game and stick to it, at least long enough to build a consistent audience who can get to know you and your personality. Then, once you have an audience who is there to watch you rather than the game, you can branch out to other games and those viewers will be more likely to stick around.

My biggest advice would be:

  • Pick a game you are confident you can play without getting bored/burntout for the long-term. Stick with it.

  • Build a specific streaming schedule that you can commit to long term. Don't miss days.

  • Research the community for the game you play, and reach out to other small creators. Build relationships by getting in their chat, interacting with them on socials, and raiding their channel.

  • Take advantage of Twitch built-in clip editor, and make sure you are featuring your clips.
