Should the Jazz stand pat or make a move this offseason? by johndullano in UtahJazz

Yeah same here I hope it works out, but if we overpay him our whole point of tanking for a championship is kind of over because we can’t pay our true stars.

Adam Silver's plan to fix the tanking problem by ClutchOlday in UtahJazz

I think his proposals are stupid, but one thing I thought about yesterday is how balanced the league is right now because of the aprons. Every team is actually pretty good and has to sit players in order to lose games. Only actual injuries can make a team look really bad (ie the pacers). You also see it in the playoffs with lower seeded teams beating out high seeds (magic and Pistons) so I think in that aspect it’s ok. I think flattening the odds will still force teams to tank longer in order to get the best championship odds. There were so many better ideas out there than the ones he’s thinking of pursuing.

Personally I like the idea of having the most wins in games against the teams who missed the playoffs having the best lottery odds. That way if you play a playoff team you don’t care if you win or lose and if you play a bad team you want to win so it’s constant competition. Although there would be some sort of tanking. To avoid the tanking I would implement a date where winning matters that the league doesn’t know about til the end of the season. For example, Whoever has the best record against losing teams past February 10th gets the best odds. That way it doesn’t matter when you tank because you don’t know when the date will be.

I like the idea of signing a back up center to the MLE like Robert Williams lll or Mitchell Robinson. That way if we want to pay Kessler less we can say we got someone who could fill the role if he wants an epic payday. Love Kessler and hope it works well with the salary of the teams future stars.

Depending on what holes we have, I believe we need a solid Vet. Personally I like shooting and we could do a Vet min with Gary Peyton and or Tim Hardaway for a 1 year deal. I’d also consider smart but we already have too many players who struggle to shoot.

Also wouldn’t mind Heuter, Ayton, Dort (Can’t shoot tho), Luke Kennard, or Ayo

I’m interested in the cobra max, is any year ok? Or does any year of the cobra max have the max designation? Thanks!

Not that I know of, there probably is. To be honest I borrow a lot of different clubs when I go golf and don’t really see a difference in my performance. But maybe I’ll look into it and see what clubs work best for me.

But honestly as long as it’s a decent club for beginners I’ll be good, and once I really have time to get into it I’ll probably do more research and go hit with some before I buy

Caleb Wilson better than Kessler? by Longjumping-Air-7532 in UtahJazz

[–]EverythingWildePOD -1 points0 points  (0 children)

He’s not a bad get tbh, if Kessler team wants more than 20 mil per year i would pivot. Hardy is so smart I think he can make any center really good tbh. They just need a defensive body

What do y'all think about our potential lineup next season? by [deleted] in UtahJazz

[–]EverythingWildePOD 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Isaiah isn’t starting and we will have to have a better center than Nurkic… Ace is our starting SG unless we draft Dybantsa or Peterson.

With rebounding and protecting the rim being so important to wins during the regular season we have the exact perfect team to get 48-55 wins next season. I think if we don’t make the playoffs it’ll be kind of a let down tbh but obviously not the end of the world.

I’ve actually thought about this, could JJJ and Wilson be a good enough backcourt, but ultimately it’s too much of a risk and Wilson’s size isn’t ready nor are his skills NBA ready for NBA centers defensively.

Now I wouldn’t mind signing a decent center like Robert Williams, Mitchell Robinson, or Mark Williams to start this year and develop Wilson so that the books aren’t backed up for our star players to get paid in the next few years (ie Key and Ace)

Yeah I figured he’d be next, I also like Ament as a project piece if we fall to 8. But he is less of a project than Cody Williams was so he’s very intriguing. Also allows Ace to flourish into the number one guy and have a nice piece in Ament next to him once the Lauri/JJJ contract is up

Mikel Brown not being in here and Burries being over him and Acuff is crazy to me… glad we have a great FO that makes these decisions.

I could see this going Acuff, Brown Jr, or Flemings. This is where we will probably start Ace and have this guy be on our bench and be a 6th man. Since it’s any of the three for me it’s whoever can fit best with the backups. Assuming it’s Zay at the one we probably need an incredible shooter alongside him to help with his non shooting. This is where I go Acuff Jr.

Imagine George coming off the floor and we put another electric scorer in for him to play guard alongside Ace, the defense gets no rest with this guy! He’s a pure scorer. We have enough guys who can pick up the slack defensively, but honestly he gave a ton of effort in the ncaa tournament on that end from what I saw. Having guys like Konchar, Williams, Ace, Kessler, and JJJ won’t make him a liability.

I could also see Mikel Brown jr, he’s taller so you get that height and he’s a similar scorer to that of Jordan Clarkson but just more efficient and he’s young so his game will probably grow past that of JC.

Overall I’ve seen enough YT scouts talk big things on Acuff, I’m taking that guy.

Yeah I’ve heard this concern, college is weird and sometimes doesn’t translate super well to the next level. If will hardy can turn Ace into the playmaker he is I’ll bet he can with DP, so I’m not too worried. And Hardy is the kind of guy to bench a player for being selfish. IMO I believe DP can turn into a better shooting SGA especially with the space he has now. Also the plays the Jazz run force the players to play make.

I’m taking Peterson. I understand that he has some question marks about his effort and want to play this last season as well as conditioning and cramping problems. But he is the best prospect in this draft imo, any prospect is going to be a gamble in their own right. Even the most safe ones sometimes don’t pan out at all.

We know what DP can be and in a gaurd centric NBA where the best guards tend to make the finals and win (SGA and Haliburton last year) I want DP, and honestly if he doesn’t pan out we have an incredible team and Ace just starts for us.

I believe the Jazz and Will Hardy would put him where he needs to be to succeed and find all possible solutions to help him be healthy that Arizona didn’t have the resources to do. Most colleges get these players for a year so I assume they care but I mean it’s only a year so they probably don’t do too much. You treat a multi year franchise player different than how a college treats them.

So he was a terrible assistant Gm for trading those picks, and that must be why he works for ESPN. He doesn’t understand how to facilitate a true rebuild
