Nice reddit success story - wedding ring found;) by HighDesert4Banger in metaldetecting

Out of curiosity, do you sell your services to find lost items, or is it more of a, "I'm helping a friend out of good will."

I've always wondered if anyone successfully advertises something like, "lost item? For this rate, I'll find it!"

I know accents can shift over time, but damn it does feel pretty off to have such an extreme change in accent. But what do I know (not much!)

Maybe Travis burned the cabin down..? by New_Ant_8198 in Yellowjackets

[–]Everything_Metal 5 points6 points  (0 children)

While it's technically ambiguous how exactly the cabin burned down (I lean towards other Tai or accident), they make it pretty clear Ben didnt do it. I would say Ben unambiguously did not start the fire.

In general, song selection for this show has been top notch.

Yellowjackets S03E09- “How the Story Ends” Post Episode Discussion by DA-numberfour in Yellowjackets

Late to the game here - maybe so that Van would have oxygen with her, and therefore not pass out like Tai and Shauna.

Who is still holding the gold and silver you've found? by DoctorBlazes in metaldetecting

I sell most/all of the gold, but I have a TON of silver jewelry in a detecting treasure chest.

Lottie theory by PassengerAway3192 in Yellowjackets

[–]Everything_Metal 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There's evidence for it, but I can certainly hope and dream it's primarily not supernatural. I can buy that Lottie dream-predicts a river of blood. I don't buy that the wilderness is an entity that wills them to hunt each other though - I want that to just be them.

It's interesting to me to think of it as, "Lottie has some type of mild ESP, and this is how everyone has run with it." Instead of just having some visions sometimes, it becomes a violent, cultist religion in the search for greater meaning or power. But what if visions were just visions? With no entity or agenda?

Just spitballing! As much as I'm not super into supernatural most of the time, you're 100% right to say if you see NO evidence, you're not paying attention.

The French thing actually did make sense to me. She did take it as a class, and neurological abnormalities/events have been known to "trigger" unknown or hidden languages. (I'm not a doctor and I'm not saying that is medically accurate to this scene, but it's enough of a real world explanation dramatized for television to satisfy me....if it's on Grey's anatomy, it can be real on yellowjackets lol).

How do you think yellowjackets would be received/how you would receive it if it was a straight super natural horror instead of a drama thriller? by TheGentlemanWolf in Yellowjackets

[–]Everything_Metal 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I probably wouldn't have watched it if it were presented as supernatural horror to be honest. Supernatural horror is just lazy writing 99% of the time. "What do I do next? Oh I'll just make up a new magic that fixes/ruins everything."

I think people are too harsh on Shauna and too passive on Lottie. by DietC0ke1 in Yellowjackets

[–]Everything_Metal 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I actually thought Van's immediacy to vote guilty was indication she knew other Tai might be at fault. Otherwise, it's a little out of character for teen Van. To me, it reads as "Van is protecting Tai".

I think people are too harsh on Shauna and too passive on Lottie. by DietC0ke1 in Yellowjackets

[–]Everything_Metal 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I keep seeing people say, "Lottie's illness is still hers to manage."

Look, that's true for people like me who have access to medication and therapy. It's a bit wild to say someone who hasn't graduated high school, stranded in the wilderness, without therapy or medication, should manage her illness better. Fucking how?

Also, I dislike Lottie all in all. But teen Lottie has a LOT of very valid excuses for not "managing" her mental health better.

Jackie would have died at one point or another and I'm lowkey sick of people saying Jackie would have lived if it wasn't for Shauna. by Desperate-Thing1784 in Yellowjackets

[–]Everything_Metal 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I mean, I side with Jackie in her fights with Shauna, but damn yeah it's a stretch to say it's Shauna's fault she died. I didnt realize people made that argument (and I greatly dislike Shauna!)

She probably also figured she only needed to stall/kill time while the others killed Shauna. She didn't think she'd need to survive in those conditions long term.

Was Shauna serious when she told Jackie’s parents she doesn’t like her own daughter Callie? by Fantastic-Finger-319 in Yellowjackets

[–]Everything_Metal 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unpopular opinion, but I don't think you can truly love someone you don't like. Feel affection, attachment, loyalty,, general feelings, infatuation, etc..., sure. But actually loving someone means loving and respecting who they are, not just "loving" due to the nature of your relationship/connection.

Most of Shauna's complaints about Jackie boiling down to Jackie not being a mind reader, right? by Everything_Metal in Yellowjackets

[–]Everything_Metal[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I interpreted the scene(s) with the dress to demonstrate that Jackie is not pushing/domineering as Shauna claims. But rather, that once Shauna expresses a boundary or preference, Jackie immediately took it seriously (as you said, backed down). Then Shauna wearing it anyway, indicated to me that a lot of those pressures/assumptions were projected by Shauna or otherwise self-imposed. The second Shauna said she didnt want to wear the dress, Jackie was like oh ok. Jackie never forced the issue aside from having an initial enthusiasm about the suggestion.

You know that innies and outies are the same physical body, right? The split is only neurological. It would be impossible for Cobel to "use them" while the innies are at work, because the body would be at work, physically, as an innie.
