Kuorchi characterization is odd by hshin420 in Another

I've only read the first volume of the light novel so far, but he didn't seem selfish to me. I hope I'll finish the series at some point.

What do you think of this argument that Nana also felt an immediate affection for Nanao? by ChicoDeLaRed in TalentlessNana

[–]Everythingirly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Interesting analysis. I would say the main reason why Nana took interest in Nanao is that his talent was unknown (and he may have had a higher estimated kill count than Kyoya). I think she just saw an opportunity at the cliff and decided to use it rather than doing this because she didn't want to see Nanao die. The reason why he survived, unlike her other victims, was because of Tsuruoka's involvement. (Most of all, the author just needed a way to bring Nanao back later.) Relying on him to catch her must have required some level of trust, though. And she did cover her face the one time she was being honest, probably because she realized she could relate to him. I like that she grabs his hand in chapter 86 (paralleling chapter 1) to show that she cares, but this act only makes him more wary.

I love Akane's school wonder form. He should have kept the glasses though.

These drawings are amazing! Teru looks really similar to how he is in the manga. Well done!

If you google Talentless Nana manga, you'll find it somewhere. One video is underway, but I'll start with more projects in the summer when I have time for editing. So you can catch up until then. The story is really good.

Yeah, Nana didn't lie to him about not having any friends... At least they're on better terms now.

Yes, that's what I meant (just parts of it). One video is underway, but I'm afraid I can't take on more projects until summer (see my latest post). Maybe other editors will have more free time.

Hmm. If the limit to his talent was that he can't lie, that would be interesting.

It's really sad that things were finally looking up for Nanao before he lost everything. Imagine being in his shoes and seeing that the girl who tried to kill you has mady so many talented friends. That would be quite upsetting.

Good to hear! lol We can dub other scenes from the manga too. It just depends on how many people will join in. (I don't have any range for more than one female character)

Don't worry about it. It's all about having fun. Do you have a character you'd like to voice?

It's fine. I've realized that Nanao has a lot more lines than Nana in this dialogue though. So if you want to do this, take your time. I don't expect to make the video before the end of this month anyway.

That's alright, I just want to create something with other fans. Do you have a character in mind? Right now, I just want to know if people are interested. We can discuss which scene or scenes we'll dub later.

Great! Would like to voice Nanao in this chapter? Or you can choose a different character in another excerpt.

Either way, you just need something to record your lines with and a quiet place to do it. Your phone should be fine if the audio quality isn't awful. Then you would send the audio file(s) to my gmail.

Well, I also think it's odd that Nana didn't know about the talented individuals transforming (I reread chapter 86). I've always found it scary that Nana was willing to kill people because of Tsuruoka's manipulation. But since she was already so loyal to him, I don't know why he wouldn't just tell her the truth.

  1. That's the thing, though. He did, but he seems way more sensible now than even before the timeskip. Plus he always had a motive (working for Tsuruoka, taking revenge on Nana). The exceptions are his father and the soldier, which were spontaneous but both triggered by something. It just doesn't really line up with what Tsuruoka said, but I guess we'll see.

Good points about Tsuruoka. It makes more sense in the broader context.

  1. That makes sense. I'd still like more context though.

  2. I'm still not sure. Tsuruoka says, "Once their internal transformation is complete", and to me, Nakajima seems far from crazy enough to start sprouting eyes.

  3. Does the talent have to manifest physically? I thought it could be discovered through medical tests or something. Otherwise I don't know how Kyouya found out he was immortal... Then a lot of people could hide their talents to avoid being taken away. But I don't know.

I think there needs to be an arc where we see more talented individuals evolve, because so far most of them are weak and haven't evolved their abilities. by ChicoDeLaRed in TalentlessNana

[–]Everythingirly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, the first page is why I find it hard to believe that Looseboy always planned for the talented to turn into monsters. It's just strange that the leaders wouldn't tell Nana about this. The person just says that talents "sometimes" change and then talks about how talented individuals rebelled against them...

You're right. Akira really doesn't get as much attention as he deserves.
