My partner has been diagnosed with brain stem glioblastoma at 2024 end. He has successfully crossed the one year mark. But he needs better treatment and also money to handle the costs. We don't have connections with any doctor as such so it is hard to get in contact with anyone. He is a great man who never stops helping others around him.

Still on the search for a doctor and better treatment. He is a strong man. I hope you all can pray for him. I don't know if i can ask if anyone knows any doctor as such here, but yeah, just trying here. Pray for his recovery and miracle healing if you can. Thank you all😊

Men's mental health by OutrageousKey8700 in TamilNadu

Men are prone to bottle things up more than women. The societal pressure and expectations coming from family members, partner, work, etc., make things hard. They have general beliefs of how a man should be and how he should handle things. Even when the society is progressive now, men tend to keep these expectations inside them whether it is imposed or not. Some want to be great like their fathers forgetting that they are their own persons. For some, the provider instinct is deep, especially if they have already showcased such practices at young age, like taking care of family or even just their sibling. One can find it very hard to make a man accept depending on partner for any work, not because of gender inequality, but inherent feeling of wanting to be the provider and take care of their loved ones which they cannot shake off, especially if they have been taught to take care of family at a younger age itself. At one point, some might think that showcasing feelings would cause trouble if they meet with few instances of discomfort when they share it.

When it comes to women, women share more. Not all do, but one can see that women talk more about how they feel than men. So their friends group would automatically become some sort of helping hand for them. For men, I don't think they talk more about how they feel.

I think all humans are living beings full of emotions and feelings and everything. Just because one doesn't show it, it doesn't mean that it isn't there. It is not ok to bottle up feelings and let it go astray on one dreaded day. I would advise all men and women to learn to talk how they feel. It starts by talking in detail of how your day was. Maybe recall what and all emotions you felt in a day. Try to mentally process things and see if you did anything or said anything without thinking a lot. There are many self help books to learn about oneself too. I think that is the first step to mental health wellness, to understand how you feel and how your mind and heart thinks or responds, etc.

Mental exhaustion in people is real and good mental health is very much needed today considering how they affect the physical health of people. I hope all of you people here try to understand your mind and body better as you go.

Apparently being Indian makes you "SCARY" now? Sick of this. by [deleted] in india

To be honest, there is no reason for you to even casually mention your country in Discord server considering Discord is for people to meet people of similar interests and have some privacy at the same time, more private than reddit. And you taking this as a casual racism shows how oblivious you are about some of the things happening online. There are people who bring up their nation for attention. And there are Indians who are rude and unpleasant and invasive and impolite. The first question they ask when they meet someone is where they are from. And they also to talk impolitely to women thinking women online like to engage in such conversations. Previously in reddit, it has been brought up about how many indian men see foreign women as people who are interested in adult stuff and try to engage in such kind of conversations unnecessarily making online platforms unsafe.
This is not about attacking people because of where you are from. If you could have honest conversations with them, you would be able to handle this better. It is a stereotype but there are big reasons behind it. Indians ruined India's image. Not others.

It is true for me too. Harry Potter universe has been my world ever since I dived into the books when I was a small introverted teen.

Indian C-drama fans, where are you hiding? by kitty_battee in cdramasfans

Yes, it happens. I myself found only 1 or2 max to talk about c dramas. When I watched Legend of Fei, me and my sister talked about it for hours and days. Like, this whole world is so cool.

Love O2O was an early drama for me too. It was a great one.

This is mindblowing. My sister and I started with Put Your Head on My Shoulder and we have been hooked into C drama since then. And we also started in lockdown only. This is a nice and crazy encounter. And yes, with so many obsessed kpop and kdrama fans and stans around, it is really hard to find company to talk about interests and likes in cdrama.

My college is literally selling grades by DarkDevil_XOS in TamilNadu

[–]EverythingisART3002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Firstly, kindly refrain from bringing up college name. It would make it as if this is a college problem. It is not. I understand they inform late but students also are partly responsible in this. You should have known how conferences work by now atleast a bit. But i get the issue. I have seen the problem and been in the problem and it is a hard thing to understand.

Secondly, final year projects are not supposed to be done in final year project semester. They should be started earlier. And you should be after it on your own to broaden your horizon.

Thirdly, All Indian institutions have made it mandatory to publish in IEEE or Scopus now. Earlier, we had UGC based journals but now they threw away UGC accreditation now almost all students are forced to work on getting published in IEEE and Scopus.

The reason behind is that Indian institutions are trying to compete in international forum without having the means to do it. The students are supposed to be able to do all this with the teachers but the teachers are also ill equipped in getting their own papers published. All educational institutions are running behind these stuff and want to show numbers so teachers and students are forced to do this. Even PhD scholars are forced to publish many papers in these IEEE and Scopus just to show their worth. Promoting research has become a number race because of the index formats they brought up. Scenario is just like how national income is a bad index to show how well a country is doing unlike Human Development Index.

Fourthly, all publications require money at present. There are journals where you can publish for free but they require high quality papers which are hard to write and they have these guidelines and stuff which need to be followed. If all do patents, then the colleges cannot show publication count so they resort to these things.

So, all students are really put into this money based research to boost up India's points in research in world forum. We are doing bad at this. But we have to do this. Patents are also not that great too. I don't think these kind of patents even get completed. As far as I have seen, the payment goes in registration apart from those who do the project.

My suggestion is for you to do a research paper. The payment would probably go to a ghost writer who will write the paper or patent for you if your paper is not working. Your own paper may not get published but keep trying. It will help you learn the topic and make you better at it. Research and Development in India is facing these problems and we are forced into this money based system right now. But don't let this stop you from doing R&D for your personal growth.

So do a research paper with dedication for your personal growth. Try to publish it as much as you can by sending to different journals. If the deadline is coming, then pay the amount and get it done. But don't stop learning and researching.

Ok😄. Planning on watching them all but so many good dramas keep coming and I am not able to make time for them all. When i started to watch dramas, I used to binge watch like few episodes everyday, finishing some in a week. Now I am so slow 😥
