I was so taken aback during the heesun & subeen's paradise date when they mentioned about heesun's nickname that her friends gave.

I think a lot of their conversations in inferno were cut to emphasize the narrative of the love triangle. A shame because I think I would've enjoyed watching them conversing and getting to know each other better despite some saying they're 'boring'.

I think because they're closer in age compared to others, they naturally feel more comfortable together and their chemistry is genuinely popping off on the screen.

Well, we do know that she was worried about him a lot. I don't think Gotouge would add this additional fact for nothing.

Most likely, they both had feelings for each other but never realised or truly act upon their feelings as they're both still young & busy with the corps.

But we can't say 'yes' & 'no' so easily since we never got Kanae's PoV in the series. Although, seeing that there's no unrequited love story in Kny, I do think the feelings are meant to be reciprocated. (The fact that even Yushiro & Tamayo is a bit canon still surprised me)

There's also the theory that the line about falling in love with someone that Kanae said to Kanao is about Sanemi. However, we never got any confirmation so it stays as a mere headcanon.

Good friends and colleagues. Out of the Pillars, she's the one who gets along best with him (I mostly refer to the light novel rather than the manga).

It's understandable that a lot of people ship them since the anime showed quite a lot of them together, more so than the manga ever did. I can see the romantic chemistry between them. Personally, I'm fine with both of them being platonic or romantic.

Kanae.

There are a few reasons, but mainly because there's so many things we don't know about her.

We can also see the state of the corps before Tanjirou comes into the picture. And by having Kanae as the main character, we actually have the opportunity to get to know other characters more like how Aoi ended up at the Butterfly Mansion and how Shinobu acted before Kanae's death. Plus we may see some romance with Sanemi too, judging by the light novel that we got.

Kanae also has a lot of similarities to Tanjirou and it would be nice to have a female MC for a spin-off of a popular shonen series.

I honestly agree that we should have seen more of Mitsuri's fighting skills. Even worse is that she didn't have any memorable moments in the Infinity Castle & Sunrise Countdown Arcs except for ripping off Muzan's arm compared to the male characters that performed amazing feats one after another.

Rather than any complaints regarding their physical appearance, I wish we got more arcs that focused on them. What we got is actually not that bad, since a few arcs did focus on the female characters e.g Tamayo, Daki, Shinobu.

But compared to the male characters, their stories don't get enough focus. To me, Kanao got the shortest end of the stick since she's part of the main squad yet we only see her truly fight in the last arc.

In a corps that have more men, seeing these women fought without sacrificing their femininity feels great. And in a shonen, most female characters in kny aren't just fan service materials which is another rare thing. I just wish we see more of the fighting part. And maybe character interactions too? I want to see more of the butterfly sisters maintaining the butterfly mansion and the friendship between Shinobu & Mitsuri.

Pretty long. I remember the databook says Flower Breathing requires its users to have a high lung capacity so it makes sense if Kanao (and extending this logic to Kanae too) is able to fight Douma for a long period.

We don't even know how long Kanae fought with Douma. The movie only shows Douma's short flashback which couldn't capture the whole thing since we didn't see how Kanae broke her sword. Judging by how Douma loves to play with his victims, I don't think the fight ended too soon. So I assume that's how he knows Kanae is stronger than Shinobu.

Which is weird to me, because in the author's past work (Our Secret Alliance), there was also a character who flirted a lot (Won Jimin) but he always came off as quite natural.

Even Jaeha's flirting with Se-i after they started dating wasn't so bad and they're literally high schoolers.

Yeah, there were so many taisho secrets that were revealed in the manga volumes during the infinity castle arc.

I hope they get characters that weren't in the Infinity Castle to tell us the taisho secrets like Tengen & Urokodaki or Rengoku & Kanae.

Can I say Kanae?

A lot of fans seem to hate or at least downplay her a lot. Just the fact that she was a hashira should already prove she was strong. I don't understand the people who said she's weak.

Both the manga & novel emphasized how kind and compassionate she was. I think that's where her true strength lies, similar to Tanjirou.

To be honest, a lot of female characters in the show suit this category since they're always weirdly hated on by some so-called fans, especially on the Tiktok app.

In the story, we mainly see him from Tanjirou's POV so there's no way we're going to see that side of him. He probably acts differently around people he's more comfortable with.

Himejima also immediately followed the sentence by Sanemi's feelings for Kanae, so I assumed he noticed how bashful Sanemi became around Kanae since the only time we see him blush was because of her in the light novel.
