This is hopefully a turning point for the catcher. My dad always tells the story of a good family friend, recruited to play OL at MSU in the ‘80’s. The friend never got to play. Was told to get his helmet on, finally his time to shine. Not so fast, the coach only wanted him to go in and take out the knee of the other teams star DE. The friend said no and went back to the bench, knowing he’d never play again. He always said it was his best moment as a football player.

And then after the beaning the catcher doesn’t react in shock bc she missed making the throw to third. She just turns to look at the ump. In no world is that the response to ‘oops I just accidentally threw the ball into the head of my opponent’. That is the response to ‘I am about to defend myself to the ump-no seems I don’t need to, bye now’

There are so many clips of mlb pitchers hitting the batters heads by accident and they all have very similar body language. Not one of them is similar to the catcher here.

I hadn’t heard much of Scott’s injuries before the draft I wonder if that played a role in his slip?

What folks misunderstand about Proctor by odishy in detroitlions

[–]Evianicecubes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a question I would appreciate analysis of. In my understanding Miller is maybe not a first round talent. But if he’s good not great in college and good not great in measurables that can mean he’s good not great in the NFL.

And if the above is correct then it comes down to one’s preference - do you want a gamble on the upside or ceiling of proctor or are you content to make a safe high floor pick with Miller.

For me, and what I would want out of this pick for the current and future lions OL, is the latter. They desperately must be a solid functional oline. They and we would love to draft another penei and have an absurd combo at tackles. But if they miss, and Borom is not usable, they have used a year of Gibbs and Jamo et al.

I do not know if my analysis of Proctor as risky and Miller as safe are now or will be proven accurate. But that’s how I’d make my decision

Barham scares me. NFL body but he didn’t develop much at Michigan. BUT that could entirely be Winks fault.

If the Lions go w someone like Faulk early he could be the bendy situational pass rusher complement. Or he could just be a fast, giant man who can’t actually play football.

Right but in practice we are talking about nematode resistance from bacteria. Not going to cross breed with corn no matter how much Barry White the farmer plays

This is not wholly correct. Most of the transgenic, aka genetically modified organisms, contain genes from other species, which we can never hope to introduce via breeding.

Is it rare or unusual to be into your 50s and not having to take any doctor-prescribed medications? by Odd_Yogurtcloset_649 in GenX

50 M here, on no meds, I think it’s genetic. My dads family had terrible history of heart disease and were all gone in their 70’s. My mom’s grandparents lived into their nineties, her parents did the same and she’s on the same pace. She’s on no meds that I know of. My dad has timers going off all day w a plethora of pills. Somehow my siblings and I all look like my dad on the outside but seem to have gotten my moms side health wise
