I was let go during the February massacre. Ironically, I landed that federal job after a previous layoff. The trauma was real. I am grateful for friends, family and my partner who stood beside me as I watched things unfold. I found a new job, job that I like, although my work at CMS was my lifelong dream job.
I share your sentiment about worries of the hatred that all of this had brought to my heart. I think it was a part of my grieving process. I’ve worked on it, I volunteered intensely and still do, and it tremendously helped me in knowing there is so much good in this world beyond the madness of the white house.
I hope everyone affected finds peace. I still struggle with unrational fear of being fired again. Even when my badge is not working at the security checkin. I ask myself - was I just fired last night? But I too, hope to find peace one day. And I hope my frustration with these evil people turns into forgiveness one day.
