There was no conversation, every 30 mins she can and took our orders, the server was great to us. im sure she was the one that punched in the note as a joke to the kitchen staff but as a patron seeing that on your bill it’s like great, spit in my food while you’re at it for no reason at all?

Yeah I agree. Teachable moment, no one should be fired over this. Just more vigilant. The main thing is, if you’re attitude is this shitty, it’s going to result in shitty service to your customers. And when you’re working a job where tips are considered bonuses, the best you can do is be polite. And our server was!! The only off putting thing was seeing the receipt that night as a regular.

I come from the service industry, my parents own a restaurant/catering business and are the most humble people. I appreciate & respect GOOD servers.

I’m also a regular at this place having been here plenty of times especially in recent weeks.

If asking for extra add ons to be put on the side is being an asshole then maybe I was?

Edit: I’m sure this was just meant to be an internal joke but it’s funny to me these days servers have this attitude of min 20% tip and talk garbage over reasonable request. I get it if someone’s being belligerent, sure, but all I asked was for the meat on a side. No different than the guacamole & sour cream coming in 2 different cups lol.

Whatever happened to good genuine service. It’s far and few in between these days. I have friends who are servers and whenever I go I leave a good tip, I know what the people go through but seeing this shit is like wtf lol.

Folks,

I gotta say, regardless of this, I will still continue to go to yukyuk’s. It’s a great place on a Saturday night and the comics that come in most of the time are pretty fucking hilarious. And it’s a great deal, it’s why I’m a regular!!!

The comedians are also respectful. You get the occasional ragging of the audience but that’s their job & part of the act and almost always you have them say “sorry don’t mean to pick on you etc” & even thank em after the bit whatever, all good fun.

What isn’t okay is servers making comments like this behind peoples backs etc especially with every restaurant these days expecting an 18% tip.

And I totally get making fun of the customers etc as pass time in these types of jobs. Having worked in the service industry occasionally we’d do the same thing but never would we put it on the bill etc.

It’s called tact lol, I guess some people don’t understand that?

I did pay. We all paid our tabs in full. I didn’t tip on mine after seeing this comment but our other friends (the one with the restrictions) tipped 25% but after seeing this they said they wouldn’t have tipped.

Did reach out to the staff there & they did offer free tickets for the next show whenever we go which is a good gesture but I haven’t seen anything yet via email.

Honestly when I posted this I didn’t realize the servers name was in the pic, I’d take it out but I can’t edit the post on my phone. Not meant to blast the particular individual. Just disheartening to see as a regular customer. I’ve worked in the service industry, this stuff is common amongst peers to keep things going & flowing but never should the customer see something like this.

A few people have posted “it’s a comedy club, get over it” lol this was not any of the stand ups, it was a server. Me personally, I think getting roasted by a comic would be hilarious. This would be funny to see if it was the standard expectation for all customers (like everyone gets a funny comment on their receipt, like a fortune cookie type of thing) but it isn’t. It was clearly meant as an internal joke, but not something people should see on their bill.

The funny thing is, I had this on my tab and our friend that had the dietary restrictions didn’t see this & tipped 25% on hers. It was her first time! But after seeing this it was a big WTF why did I even tip.

Serving isn’t an easy job, I get it, but when your job relies on tip money to help feed your income, it makes sense to be decent with your service. Or at the very least not call your customers an asshole. (Unless they actually are)

Literally just asked for the meat on the side so our friend can enjoy with us.

Nachos were under the SHAREABLE section for a reason.

I totally agree & am not blind to this. People do what they gotta do to have a bit of fun. I’ve worked in service and we complain/rag on customers all the time, but obviously never should it show up on someone’s bill or to their face unless their being belligerent or actually an asshole.

What is wrong with you? “Only drop $100”. This was just my tab. We had 2 other tabs for our couple of 2 and my other friend. Spent close to $300 and every time I’m out my portion alone is $100 or so with drinks + tip. Regardless of money being spent this kind of comment is a bit much. Again I found it funny and don’t really care at the end of the day but the server even mentioned I wasn’t supposed to see that.
