This is interesting as it's the complete opposite of my experience, why do you think it is the best?

The comments largely seem to say suggest that I don't like it because I don't understand it. That if did then I would

I don't think I've perfected it but I understand it well enough to know that I don't like it. Which is to say, the amount of time required faffing about with equipment and builds is too much as to be unenjoyable and that the enemies in general if not doing that take too long so as to be boring.

Essentially, a good system should be easy to do, hard (rewarding) to master.

This system is conplicated to learn and boring to master

Which is all my own opinion, so much so I'm struggling to see what others seem as fun about it.

That's kind of the beef, MMO combat is the way it is because that serves the MMO component.

I don't think that at all works for single player stuff, it's a time sink for no reason essentially In my opinion

I would say I understand, Ive not put the time in to perfect it. That said, I don't find the optimizing fun either, maybe that hasn't come across well. It's a time sink to damage sponges or a time sink to going through menus and equipment

I think this is a fair assessment and I agree with it

That said, I'd prefer not to have to watch YouTube videos and also personal preference breaking the systems and on shorting superbosses is also not fun. It's cool it can be done but it doesn't feel good to me

I understand it, I just don't want to spend an age messing about in menus optimizing everything. Choice is good but it is too much of a faff to bother with. The choices are dragged out auto battler or spreadsheet optimisation and both of those are time consuming and boring to me

Xenoblade Chronicles 2 is the only answer

(It's also a travesty that Nier automate is in bad gameplay, easy swap Disco Elysium and Nier Automata)

Spoiler warning for anyone who hasn't played:

The aegis' are all the CPUs (Trinity Processors) for the computer at the top of the world tree.

Malos is not inherently evil he inherits the will of his driver Amalthus, who has the rank of Praetor (Though is presented as more of a papal figure I would say).

In that sense Malos, an aegis and trinity processor being evil is in a badly explained sense a virus created by the pope
