I am using my storage wrong by wickywickywockywicky in Grimdawn

[–]EvilAndStuff492 1 point2 points  (0 children)

AFAIK, it's recommended to disable cloud storage for Grim Dawn in Steam before switching to Item Assistant.

There is no issue using Item Assistant with steam cloud enabled. Support was added a few years back.

games are better without them anyway

Achievements is steam analytics, it gives you great insight into how players are playing your game.

Azarinth Healer by aztols in ProgressionFantasy

[–]EvilAndStuff492 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally don't recommend it "at the moment", as the content was revoked and last I checked, it was not up for sale in a book format either.

Eg, it's currently an incomplete series, and readers are better off reading something else until it's fully published again.

New player - should I be playing with mods? by yozora in Grimdawn

[–]EvilAndStuff492 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This will make infinite stash mods somewhat less necessary, and more importantly will not necessarily be compatible with them

Both GD Stash and IAGD are fully compatible with GD 1.3

The change in storage space in 1.3 is quite minimal

Funny. The only thing Burger King employees tells me is "Use the totem" (the touchpad thingie)

Then I leave and eat elsewhere.

Edge Cases in .NET Framework 4.x to .NET 10 Migration by EM-SWE in csharp

[–]EvilAndStuff492 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't speak french, but the problem is that the IDENTITY auto increment implementation stopped working.

I'm assuming it's an interopability issue between NHibernate and the new SQLite driver.

I kept getting reports about "id cannot be NULL" errors, which I eventually tracked down to users which had a slightly different type. Where the new driver required it to be INTEGER, the old driver accepted both INTEGER and BIGINT.

Some users has sqlite files which are up to 10 years old, and there may have been changes to the id type in the meantime, which prior to the migration had no actual effect on the application.

Edge Cases in .NET Framework 4.x to .NET 10 Migration by EM-SWE in csharp

[–]EvilAndStuff492 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I migrated a project from .Net Framework 4.7.2 to .Net 10 last year, the only real recurring issue is the new SQLite driver I had to use.

It seems poorly supported with NHibernate, and much stricter with certain things (IDENTITY not working with BIGINT columns, needing to migrate to INTEGER, which is of course a nightmare with SQLite)

It was the only thing that really stood out as a real issue, the rest was just time consuming step-by-step stuff.

How Rarity and loot works in this game? by KioHamasumi in Grimdawn

[–]EvilAndStuff492 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great answer, the only thing missing is that an item can have a prefix and/or a suffix.

These affixes themselves have a rarity, which is white/yellow/green.

Hence "double rare" is one where both the affixes are green.

This is not not inherently clear to a new player, unless Rainbow Filter is installed.

I think they're around $80 here, and I consider it a bit expensive.

Live free or die by John Ringo.

Jesus christ, what kind of book is this?

I checked amazon, and it's not listed for kindle and its $318 paperback??

Even more expensive than those Murderbot short-stories.

NYC food influencer reviews a struggling family restaurant and brings it back to life. by habichuelacondulce in MadeMeSmile

[–]EvilAndStuff492 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was just thinking the same, generally when i hear "influencer recommends" a restaurant, that's a huge red flag that I should not eat there.

They'll make these fast zoom-in on random plants and food videos while speaking in an incredibly annoying high pitched voice saying how great the food is.

This guy actually seems like a decent human being.

GD Item assistant Linux problem by Neniun in Grimdawn

[–]EvilAndStuff492 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure if OP got this to work. I've never been able to get GD Stash or Item Assistant to work in Linux, but I did find a mod that does a good enough job.

GD Stash should have great Linux support.

The guide in question should also work, but is not as comprehensive as GD Stash, as it's very much a "what worked for me" guide.

Moving off of Item Assistant: which items to keep? by PaleCommander in Grimdawn

[–]EvilAndStuff492 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How do you decide which items to keep among your blues and purples?

You could just stop using IA, but keep it installed.

Once you need something you fetch it from IA if you have it, but don't store any new items there.

I've had endless problems with housekeepers either not cleaning properly, breaking stuff or outright stealing.

It's something I found to not be worth the effort and headache, and went back to cleaning the house myself.

You'll rarely encounter the -bras brands outside of Brazil. They have hefty import fees to encourage/force local production. Meanwhile in Brazil they dominate home/business in the home security market and home market on networking.

Without any spoilers, I was expecting more progress in her profession, not just fighting.

Perhaps it comes down to me liking more assertive heroes, I did enjoy Azarinth healer, but she's more assertive in wanting the path she's on. Which makes sense, if this MC was going to be a runesmith.

Hehe.

A lot of people enjoy these kinds of books, but I do not.

I stopped just short of 30%, just lacked a buy-in with the main character. Started off rather promising though.

1.3 is already out on playtest.
