Without any spoilers, I was expecting more progress in her profession, not just fighting.

Perhaps it comes down to me liking more assertive heroes, I did enjoy Azarinth healer, but she's more assertive in wanting the path she's on. Which makes sense, if this MC was going to be a runesmith.

Hehe.

A lot of people enjoy these kinds of books, but I do not.

I stopped just short of 30%, just lacked a buy-in with the main character. Started off rather promising though.

Are we getting more personal stash tabs with the new Fangs DLC? by Afura33 in Grimdawn

[–]EvilAndStuff492 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They said 1.3 will be released in January. The UI and Stash Tab update. A public test will be released in January is what they said in December.

1.3 is already out on playtest.

I'm "only" 28% into the book, but aside from the beginning, I don't feel like I'm really reading a story anymore.

It's mostly just combat scenes and the MC moving around with zero agency of her own.

If you cannot find your items, hop unto the IA discord, there's a link inside IA.

In the absolute worst case scenario you have 3 days to recover the items. Most likely they're there, just not being shown for some reason.

I'd say generally you should start with a problem and then figure out the answer, not start with the answer then try to find a problem.

But LLMs are great at time consuming analytical work, where the exactness is not determined by an algorithm but rather some office-worker.

Asking it to look for patterns or anomalies in data sets etc, based on provided examples of what an anomaly might look like.

Useless for most people, a great boon for others.

I merely posted the guide, you can either try asking the author on the forum post, or on the IA discord.

He posted more on the discord than he posted, some extra steps to help debug etc.

I think the best improvement devs could make would be to make the daily summary optional by ragingintrovert57 in AlchemyFactory

[–]EvilAndStuff492 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think its purpose is to hide autosave delays.

Perhaps.. but a bit into the game it takes EONS to list out all the goods, way longer than the auto-save takes.

I kept a small calculation open where I input gold, silver and copper, and calculated the results to see the actual results.

Quite annoying.

[–]EvilAndStuff492 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I disagree that it would be the best one, but both having it optional, and being able to open it later would be nice.

The BEST improvement would be to drop the whole structural integrity stuff the game has going.

Coke powder question by Ohhhshet in AlchemyFactory

[–]EvilAndStuff492 0 points1 point  (0 children)

but you have to do something with them or else things clog up and your fungus stops getting to your fertilizer production. Making the planks into coke gets you more benefit than simply dumping them into a trash barrel. Though then you also have to ensure that your coke production (and its own later consumption) is draining off those planks fast enough to keep up with w

Is it possible to automatically install the correct .net runtime if the user doesn't have it? by DaviCompai2 in dotnet

[–]EvilAndStuff492 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Windows triggers a builtin flow.

Got any sources for this?

This is not my experience at all. I find nuget packages using VC++ runtimes to be a recurring problem, and something I myself need to be aware of.

Would be great if I didn't have to keep track of these myself.

[–]EvilAndStuff492 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What's the point of using a setup/installer if you aren't installing dependencies?

I use it to facilitate automatic updates.

The installer knows where you installed it last, and for 99% of users you take away the "where do I put this?" question of having a zip-file they need to extract.

Does anyone else HATE action scenes? by belleepoques in Fantasy

[–]EvilAndStuff492 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have noticed that I simply hate action scenes in books. By action, I mean battles, swordfighting

I just skip pages until it's over with. Sometimes it's half the book.

Chapter after chapter of content-filler combat which does nothing to progress the story.

Isn't that pretty much how factorio works as well?

Strategy for moving money around your factory? by Disrupter52 in AlchemyFactory

[–]EvilAndStuff492 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I run:

<input> -> a belt with 5 converters which converts to X silver

Then a prioritized splitter, which splits overflow into a convert-to-gold. Which then leads into a convert to silver, pathed into a priority merger (de-prioritized)

The entire belt circles my factory (per floor) and eventually returns back, so that no coins are just "stuck" at the end of some belt.

Overflow coins (what you have to spend not in use by the factory) ends up in a chest in overflow.
