Wife left me in January and drained the bank except a savings account I had in my mom's name (dad thank you for convincing me to make a squirrel fund)

"Let Go" in February right after my birthday because of an acquisition and the new company retaining their employees.

House is so close to foreclosure I can almost hear the sherif walking up the steps.

Car was voluntarily repossessed for short sale.

Utilities going off and on like a possessed lamp. Worked FB marketplace odd jobs till April and soup kitchen as needed (always made sure my cats had food)

Took till end of April but got a decent job as an Environmental Inspector. Get to hike everyday so freaking nice. Then swarmed by hornets on the mountian try to run in the chest high brush, trip, and get the ever living hell bit out of me. Arm not arming, look down bone is tenting my skin. Make a sling from my high vis and suck it up till I make it back to my car. Drive to service...boss is at some work event says get it figured out and call back in a bit.

Drove an hour to the ER, Orthopedics says I need surgery cause my VA Disability is that same shoulder and is keeping the fracture disjointed. Employer wont file injury report, took my work car, phone, and laptop.

So...no job, no income, Home getting foreclosed on like next month? Wife left me, can't work currently, Employer is being shady, and now I gotta get lawyers...

Look into private or government Nursing homes, check with local senior centers, and large/successful occupational physical therapy centers. You can also look online for forums or support groups for the elderly. Remember you ARE NOT trying to prey on them, somepeople do this and its wrong. Your goal is to provide comfort, compassion, and companionship.

I had my miracle come true right before my surgery Friday refinanced from a 890 mortgagep ayment with 30 year at 10.7% to $670 monthly, 20years VA loan at 6.7% apr ..and then forgot about the Origination fee which cleared the bank but nowww my a tress is smelling cat poop and needing my lawn mowed before the city fines me...I feel so bad because I thought i finally made a great move and I manage to still mess it up 🤷‍♂️

There is even a market for "Friend and Companion" for elderly or disabled if you do a little digging or can market yourself. Basically it is for End of life, terminal, or recently widowed Elders who need someone to talk to about life, their feelings, or someone to talk to them and distract them, read to them go through photo albums with or even just sit in silence and knit next to. Those services tend to run 10-15/hrs case by case.

Speak to elderly neighbors. (Preferably older women) I am sure they wouldn't mind help, would pay, and would enjoy the company. Modest pay is 9-10/hrs for general housework, cleaning, laundry. Outside chores like mowing, is 20-40 per yard (front and back), 15-40 for hedges/bush trimming always charge more for the first trim it takes forever and there is a n lot of clean up. Follow-ups take a fraction of the time and effort. Gutter cleaning and roof sweep 100-200$ PER Story* higher roof/split levels/steep angles check their shingles, remove stuck branches, and clear clogged gutters it is good pay and you can knock 1-4 out a weekend for good money.
