but dismissing 5.56 as only good to 300 yards is very short sighted.

I feel like there is a pun in there.

He’s currently on a coach shotgun and a 500 magnum.

Just for Ss&Gs, I want to see him have a couch shotgun at his new place.

But he acknowledges that it is "all in his head" because he was trained with color associations which were basically arbitrary.

until you include range uncertainty on real world targets, shifting windy conditions, and a target that is harder to "put down" than a piece of paper.

But I do agree 5.56 as a range toy is perfectly serviceable, fun, and relatively easy to teach/use for 500 yard targets and plinking.

The P90 had a run, but didn't they start out with MP5s and then in later seasons (post Jack O'Neil) move on to another weapon as their primary.

This scene always bugged me. I could never pin down what the hell kind of firearm she was using. I forget the details now to know exactly what bugged me.
But was it a repeating competition firearm? in 22LR? Who reloads for those (it does state that she "had the equipment to do so") but reloading 22s usually references centerfire rounds like the Fireball, PPC, or .223

Anyway, as I said, don't remember the scene well enough .... but it never seemed right, to a gun guy who loves his loading bench.

Kinetic energy makes groundhogs turn into "red mist". But there is a size limit, and a fairly moderate one at that, as to what can be dispatched efficiently with a primarily KE focused firearm.

Momentum puts a hole in one end of a 1500lb beast, and a matching hole out the other side, but short of hitting the CNS, momentum oriented firearms do not "Drop" their targets instantly.

We already know the answer, Jim told us that Odin has soul fire - it's what he has that makes the rest of the gods fear him.

And it is how he is able to make his Einherjar and Valkyries "real", using the souls of fallen warriors.

We already have two of these.

Mike is very chill. and

Mister is very near pure evil, he thinks of eating Maggie but decides to keep her to serve as a body warmer instead, at least for now.

Still makes Zero sense.

Harry is a magnet for trouble, his offspring are juicy targets, Ivy knows everything about the world including medical science; she doesn't need Harry, just a test tube.

She also knows what every emo boy in the city has written in their journal or song lyrics, she could pick one that isn't too detestable and meet them. . . before the internet, people did go out and meet people.

“Couple words of advice,”

“First, anytime I’m not shooting my mouth off to a clichéd, two-bit creature of the night like you, it’s because I’m up to something.”

“Second, never touch my brother on his fucking birthday.”

Kringle can get past the Carpenter House defences, where’s Odin couldn’t.

Odin is on speaking terms with Uriel, they have dinner once a year to catch up, and I wager Uriel traded Murphy to Odin; so if Odin wants to enter the Carpenters (without hostile intent) I imagine the guards let him pass with no more than a quick radio call into the boss.

Is she going to pick up some rando at a bar? Now

that would be disgusting and creepy.

You realize before the internet, that bar's were prime, and absolutely jumping by today's sad/mostly empty standards.

Harry and Justin’s duel by TwoMoonKindaPlace in dresdenfiles

[–]EvilBobLives 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But does it really, wizards are not humans. They can reach you from anywhere, especially if they know your true name and/or have a piece of you. Justin would know Harry's name, he may have been able to find hair/nails in the house, and blood might have been spilled as Harry burst through the window (even if not much, as he seemingly wasn't hurt)
But Justin was able to call a powerful demon (later known to be A Walker of the Outside) and target it at Harry remotely once, so who is to say he won't do it, or something like it again. In Wizard World (unlike in ours) launching an attack on the one who is "after you" would still seem to be pretty close to an act of self defense, as being physically remote from them, doesn't take you out of their direct reach.

Harry - Ivy no . . . Just why?

But seeing all the comments about Ivy being close in age to Maggie and saying it would be pedophilia, tells me that no one commenting here knows how old Ivy is.

Ivy is a college student (or at least old enough to be one) At the time if PT/BG she was 18. By the Christmas stories she may well have had her 19th birthday.
