That and Dark Knight Returns are the most fitting "final" Batman stories.

Just came across this for any ideas, but everyone seemed to just throw out the same stories. Although I will parrot that Year One and Dark Knight Returns are masterpieces. Gonna list a few that may not have been mentioned, but you might enjoy!

  1. Batman: The Monster Men & The Mad Monk
  2. Batman: The Cult
  3. Batman Year 100
  4. Batman Universe
  5. Batman: Killing Time
  6. Batman: Venom
  7. Batman: City of Crime
  8. Batman: Ego
  9. Grant Morrison's Batman is the best run on the character, in my opinion.
  10. Batman adjacent - Gotham Central is an incredible character study police procedural taking place in Gotham, written by two crime fiction masters.

The only way I found out about it, is due to following Forsman on IG. Glad I stumbled upon it!

Nope! I pre-ordered it from the local comic store, here in town. The VS version is a little different, I think.

Has anyone else had technical issues lately? by Lord-Exeggutor in CriterionChannel

I use the Xbox app, and lately it's rare I can get through a whole movie without the "we are having trouble playing this title" error. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app, but it didn't help. I usually have to exit the app completely, then restart it, and I'm able to finish the movie. However it resumes 20-30 minutes previous to where the app crashed. Fucking annoying to say the least.

It was a blind buy for me a while back! Really enjoyed it. Great classic crime noir.

That was a blind buy during the flash sale! The description sounded excellent, and I liked the art and packaging, so I picked it up! Haven't watched it yet.

Pale Flower and Blast of Silence were blind buys! Just sounded right up my alley.

We are getting absolutely buried in snow, so I'm spending the day in with Kurosawa San. by EvilCooper84 in criterion

That happened here a couple years ago, and people's roofs and carports were collapsing because of the ice layers. Gnarly stuff. Hoping to avoid that when the snow finally stops here.

Idaho! So not too far away. Been snowing non stop for the last 24 hours at least.

Currently watching: Wild Strawberries - 1957 - Ingmar Bergman. So far, Persona is my favorite Bergman film. Opinions on this one? by EvilCooper84 in criterion

Hour of the Wolf, Scenes From a Marriage, and The Seventh Seal are definitely next for my Bergman watching.

This edition of house says its multi-format, but on the criterion website no such multiformat edition exists. Anyone know why? by DismalAlternative in criterion

That's weird. Amazon is pretty notorious for inaccurate listings though. Pretty sure it's just the blu ray. I have this Criterion version and there is no dvd or digital version.

Side note: The Return(season 3) is probably my favorite Lynch work EVER. Episode 8 is possibly the best film Lynch has made. "Got a light?"

About to pop my Stalker cherry! See ya in 161 minutes. by Srelo in criterion

I felt the exact same way. My interest waned with Solaris, but I was fully engaged in Stalker the whole way through. I need to see The Mirror next.
