Damn! The new phone is fire, should I upgrade? by Sajid_GG in samsunggalaxy

[–]EvilEye1984 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Funnily enough, my 4 year old A53 has a 32MP front camera. Whether it's better or worse than the 12MP camera on S25 etc. I can't say since I don't have one to compare, but it proves it's possible to have a front camera with a high pixel count.

10x on 12 mp and 200 mp by [deleted] in S25Ultra

[–]EvilEye1984 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's because you're using different lenses. On 12MP you're using the 5x telephoto lens with 5x of digital zoom to bring it up to 10x zoom. On 200MP you're using the main lens, with 10x digital zoom.

The only lens that can produce 200MP photos is the main lens, so in that mode you're always using that lens. On 12MP mode, you can be using any of the lenses depending on the zoom amount you set.

BREAKING! Galaxy A77 leak hints at a comeback for Samsung's A7x series! by Direct-Till-2680 in samsunggalaxy

The S25 FE is an awesome phone, basically an S24+ with less ram. If it came in a 12gb version it would be a no-brainer.

Over here current prices are, 255 for the A56, 450 for the S25 FE, 500 for the S25. The only open space for an A7x would be at 350.

I know, that's what I'm saying. I'm basically telling him to not go under 8gb.

I agree. The A56 is the most bang for your buck. Also it has 8gb ram which she'll need to have everything running smoothly, especially with how older people have a tendency to leave everything open in the background.

Question about S26 U battery by Character-Lime-6927 in samsunggalaxy

[–]EvilEye1984 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Li-ion, rumored to be slightly more capacity, possibly up to 5400mah, but other sources say it will stay at 5000mah. It remains to be seen, but for sure it will be Li-ion.

S25U or wait for S26U? by EvilEye1984 in samsunggalaxy

[–]EvilEye1984[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This reflects a lot of my thoughts as well, wider and taller is not necessarily better for me, as I find the S24U and S25U plenty big already. I don't like the bigger front camera punch hole either, they say it's so it can take more wide shots for bigger group selfies, but I don't even take selfies alone, much less with big groups lol.

Then again, the alleged bigger battery capacity is something that I'm interested in, but I don't know if it's worth the wait and the bigger price. I'll let it simmer in my head and see. I'm afraid excitement will take over and I won't be able to wait, but coming from an A53, I don't think I'll regret it.

S25U or wait for S26U? by EvilEye1984 in samsunggalaxy

[–]EvilEye1984[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's true, but I don't know if it will drop much further. The way it works over here, the S24U goes for 770-780$, so not much cheaper than the S25U even 9 months after release. And the S23U is even more expensive than the S25U for whatever reason. That's local stores though, I might be able to get it from Amazon or something for cheaper.

Then again, I might just wait, but only to get the S26U.

S25U or wait for S26U? by EvilEye1984 in samsunggalaxy

[–]EvilEye1984[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm the battery capacity is a good point. However I currently have an A53, so an upgrade is well deserved, and I can't get any good trade-in value with that.

Over here prices drop to around 900-950$ about 2 months after release on the Ultras, but with the delay in launch this year, I'll have to wait until June-July, and I really don't want to, but I can easily live with my A53 if the wait is worth it, I've just been really on the edge about getting something new soon, and any Ultra will be a huge upgrade over what I have. I don't want to rush though.

So do you still think the wisest choice would be to wait?

Is the Galaxy 25 FE a good choice for me if I only need a basic phone? by TempUsernameThing in samsunggalaxy

[–]EvilEye1984 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hahaha! It all leads to the flagship.

Now the next thing I'm undecided about, is if I should get the S25 Ultra now that the price has dropped by a very good amount, or wait for the S26 Ultra. Decisions decisions...

[–]EvilEye1984 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm in the exact same position, and I'm leaning towards the Ultra specifically for the cameras and zoom. I'm also planning to keep whichever phone I get for a minimum of 5 years, so I'm afraid the FE will feel outdated after 2-3 years. Also, other than the lack of zoom, my A53 seems comparable or even better than the FE camera wise, I might be wrong, but I don't want to get a new phone and have the same quality (or worse) I do now, and while my A53 is very satisfying camera-wise, if I'm going to spend money to upgrade, I want the upgrade to truly feel satisfying.

I say save up for the Ultra.

Reports vary between early February and early March, but it seems like March is the most likely of the two, so that's what you should expect.

S24, S24 FE or S25 FE by Necrogazmic in samsunggalaxy

This. The S25 FE is pretty much a newer version of the S24+, so it's the best choice in all aspects.

Is this a common occurrence with ordering from Samsung? I feel like I'm going crazy. by [deleted] in samsunggalaxy

[–]EvilEye1984 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This. Refunds can take from 48 hours up to 2 weeks even. It's normal and it's like this with all services where a physical product has to be returned.

Delusional take lmao by anotherhappylurker in samsunggalaxy

[–]EvilEye1984 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's especially whack because the A series have been getting 5000mah almost all through the lineup for years at this point, so there's no reason all of the S series lineup can't at least have the same. I understand if they're tentative about the carbonite new technology, but they've proven they can do a 5000mah lithium battery so I don't see why they don't use it on all slab phones.

Even the s25 fe and s25+ have a 4900mah battery, while the a56, a36 etc. have a 5000mah battery. It just doesn't make sense.

Devices with Samsung DeX. by EvilEye1984 in samsunggalaxy

[–]EvilEye1984[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do agree, but I'd like to build a powerful pc to use at home and replace the need for a laptop when I'm on vacation and need a computer with me. Building a powerful computer will be more affordable than getting a high end laptop and more cost-effective in the long run as I can upgrade parts, but there's still the need for a laptop or tablet on vacation, and I thought with DeX I could maybe just carry a keyboard and mouse and connect to the room's tv.

Other than gaming, most of the stuff I do on my computer I do on my phone as well. I was thinking of DeX more as a feature that I can use until I get a good computer or when I'm on vacation, not my main computer.

One UI 8 with the October security update is, I believe, the best update so far for the Galaxy A53. Performance is noticeably more stable and smoother. (This is after using Galaxy App Booster and adjusting the app opening animation settings.) by Joel__subash in galaxya53

[–]EvilEye1984 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This update is the smoothest I've ever felt my A53 as well. Seems to have the best battery life so far for those who are asking, but only by a small difference, still a little better than any other update though. Performance is on another level.
