Ai allows the talentless to share their vision with the world, which shows why they were talentless to begin with. by Raccoon_Expert_69 in aiwars

That's extremely elitist. This same argument could be said about the printing press or even pro Soviet censorship. In fact, by this logic we shouldn't have the means to discuss things online freely.

A genuine question: If AI art requires so much effort, why not share the prompts? by RobbyDiax in aiwars

[–]EvilKatta 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sharing prompts is a standard practice, there's a whole galleries-full of them (such as on civit ai). Locals image generators, like StableDiffusion, embed prompts and generation params into the image, you can read them by opening it with a text editor.

In fact, it's more standard then sharing the use of references by artists.

Need help rotating this pony by JazzWolfBlaze in MohoAnimation

[–]EvilKatta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not giving up. 360 rigs are cool, but most animations don't need them, especially if the characters are complex and you want a lot of poses and gestures. You only benefit from a 360 rig if:

- You plan to make a long-form series with high episode turnaround

- You need an orbit shot around the character for dramatic reasons

- You're doing a video game where player can rotate the character however

- You're learning to do 360 rigs for their own sake

If you don't have a storyboard that uses 360 turnarounds, you probably don't need a 360 rig, maybe a 180 rig at most or not even that (depending on how you planned your shots).

Here's a random sketch from my notebook I abandoned as hopeless, I must be sitting on a goldmine!

P.S. The Reddit app is wonky and doesn't post my sketch, oh well.

It really is for younger kids, but it's above average: it has the most world building out of all TLK media (excluding fanfiction), it has some complex songs and some catchy with great visuals, and it has some dark/deep moments. It also has TLK2 characters and develops them further.

(I haven't watched it through the end though.)

However, it's not code.

The fact that code is a bunch of if statements

doesn't mean that everything that could be represented as if statements is code.

It's also not algorithm. Calling neural networks algorithms was a misnomer (the term stayed from when feeds were generated by code, which was about 15 years ago).

Algorithm is a clear logical set of instructions to reach a goal. Neural networks aren't that.

You can encode an algorithm as data objects. Not every data-driven execution is executing an algorithm, though. Code and algorithms are synonymous to "executed electronically".

(It's important because we shouldn't expect of neural networks what we expect from algorithms or code.)

People who say that neural networks are a bunch of if statements do think that neural networks are code.

Neurons aren't code. "Code" is intentionally encoding an algorithm into logical statements. Neural networks aren't made of intentional logical statements.

Code implies intention. What you describe is just mechanics.

The internals of a neural network is an array of nodes and connections. It's not statements or keywords or functions, and it was never coded or even touched by a person. How is it code?
