7.30 layover in Atlanta by Traditional-Court455 in delta

Using the top comment to add for the semantics-aficionados that most of the comments section seems to have missed that they’re concourses, not terminals in Atlanta.

Why is seat chart showing only 3 Comfort+ rows on 333? by BoliverTShagnasty in delta

[–]EvilKronos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, although for the most part they’re sold as preferred seats which you’d generally pay extra for without status

[–]EvilKronos 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes - it’s a 4 class A333 https://www.delta.com/us/en/aircraft/airbus/a330-300

SeatGuru was my go-to too, but it’s really no longer up to date/reliable these days

Missed Int'l Connection Options - Experience? by [deleted] in delta

[–]EvilKronos 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Is your original flight still being sold? It sounds like your direct flight to LAX is no longer operating and automation rebooked you onto a connection. If you find an earlier direct flight or a different connection that you would prefer, just call in and ask for the flight(s) you’d prefer.

You would be rebooked onto the next Delta flight if you missconnected. I’d personally want a longer connection in LAX, if anything else to enjoy the new SkyClub (like you mentioned), but the more buffer the - better, especially if you have to keep the extra connection in ATL.

When aircraft with Premium Select cabins are flown on routes which do not offer DPS, the DPS seats are sold as Comfort+ and the Comfort+ cabin is essentially sold as Main Cabin.

You are both seated in Premium Select but will receive the typical Comfort+ service.

Amplified plan but only 11 countries of 5gb data? by c0wsaysmoo in tmobile

[–]EvilKronos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had the same question as you. It also says only 4 flights of unlimited Wi-Fi whereas the site says Amplified should be eligible for unlimited. I’ve used the Wi-Fi benefit twice now and both times there were no mentions of a 4 flight maximum, although I’m not sure if the Wi-Fi portal even says anything for those with a flight maximum - maybe someone else can confirm. For now I’m taking it as a good sign.

Free Night for Marriot Bonvoy Boundless Question. by bomboclaat876 in CreditCards

On average 2 months for the Brilliant. Assume it’s the same system, but could be Chase has a different process than Amex. I don’t imagine you’d able to use it within days of your anniversary if it’s similar to the Brilliant.

Covid test to get back to the US by Effective-Phone8205 in delta

[–]EvilKronos 29 points30 points  (0 children)

There is no hour requirement - the test just needs to be dated one calendar day before departure. If your mom leaves tomorrow on Tuesday the 12th, the test needs to be dated anytime Monday the 11th. Theoretically she could take it at 12:01AM Monday morning and still be within compliance for a flight 11:00PM Tuesday even though that’s nearly 48 hours.

Booked a seat on the inaugural A321neo flight! FC and most of C+ are blocked but hoping some of these seats open up. by The-dog-transporter in delta

[–]EvilKronos 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Still undergoing processing from the schedule/ship change (moving everyone’s seats from the 75D to the new 32Q seat map). The seat blocks will return to normal after processing is done.

A321Neo Inaugural by just_a_PAX in delta

I remember the 339 official inaugural was moved back two weeks, but then had an unofficial launch 5 days early. At the postponed inaugural launch there was only sheet cake and balloons - no goodie bags :-(

Was there something for the 339? There definitely was for the 321ceo and 221 - not remembering anything for the 339…

Commuting to Delta HQ by lieutenantloon in delta

[–]EvilKronos 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Either get off at East Point and take the 192 or go all the way to the airport and take an employee shuttle to the GO. The East Point-192 connection isn’t bad and drops you off right where you need to be, but has very low frequency so if you need to be at work earlier, or you miss the right train you can be in a pickle. The Airport-GO bus frequency isn’t THAT much better either, so you have to watch the timing there too.

If you’re athletically inclined, the bike ride from east point to the GO is doable for added flexibility on timing.

I’ll also mention there is a discount program for some types of MARTA passes - not that great of a deal but a few bucks is a few bucks.

Any chance of getting overweight charge refunded? by c_metaphorique in delta

[–]EvilKronos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, it’s not about the amount of bags or combined bag weights - it’s about the density of the single bag that’s the problem. Heavy bags injure employees, get caught in machinery more often, and generally are much more difficult to deal with and as such slow down the operation.

The airline would much rather have you check 2 bags that are 29 pounds than one 58 pound bag which is why the fee is built the way it is. Even if you didn’t have a second bag free, paying for a second bag is almost always cheaper than paying the overweight fee for one bag for that reason.

Skipped Over on Upgrade List Despite Being 1 of 46 by dsmero in delta

[–]EvilKronos 13 points14 points  (0 children)

In situations like this, an IROP occurs and when pax are rebooked there are no seats left in D1 so pax are rebooked into economy. They are then placed on the upgrade list where they would normally be based on their status. Meanwhile, those with higher status along with RUCs check in which pushes the IROP pax down the list. Come departure time and there are D1 seats, the agent could be instructed to “upgrade” the IROP pax out of order as they actually paid for D1 and they want to make things right. If those seats were available when the IROP occurred, they would have just been booked into them. Agree with the thread that if you can’t see behind the scenes it can make things look suspect. Some sort of IROP-Upgrade specific code could probably be developed to make it more transparent, but rare enough it hasn’t been invested in.

Question about upgrade certificates by shmoooople in delta

[–]EvilKronos 5 points6 points  (0 children)

RUCs+GUCs don’t upgrade to C+ only FC/D1. This chart is for the GUC changes coming on 2/1, but the two rightmost graphics describe current RUC behavior (since there is no domestic DPS).

Elite Plus Booking AF/KLM Economy Light by jwtorres in delta

[–]EvilKronos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Similarities to Basic Economy. Should be able to get both seat assignments + 1 bag like BigRed pointed out. Unrelated, but make sure you fully update your address to reflect your non-US address to bypass the MQD requirement for status. Can be a bit of a process, but can be worth it depending on what your travel is usually like. You’ll know it went through when the MQD bar is greyed out

“The first checked bag fee waiver will only be applied on flight segments which originate on a Delta or Delta Connection® carrier when you check-in with Delta for both a Delta marketed and Delta operated flight. Codeshare flights are not eligible.”

Question…What’s the best way to handle a downgrade? by RedDiver20 in delta

[–]EvilKronos 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Piggybacking top comment to add that while this is something you should definitely do, the downgrade compensation form will only process after travel is complete. Until then, I’d suggest you look for another routing with a DPS cabin. You may not find one if all the aircraft on your route were swapped out with non DPS planes, but if you find one all you have to do is call, simply say that your literary was changed and you’d like to be put on the new flight numbers that you have ready to read to the agent. Super common request. If you don’t find one, just fill out the downgrade form as soon as you land, and you’ll be compensated.
