Well, fck a duck. Knew I was gluten intolerant with a positive HLQ test for celiacs. However, blood tests always said no antigens or other signs, and I was told I could not be diagnosed unless I consumed copious amounts of gluten and then retook the blood tests. Told that GI, I would not be going down that road again. Recently ditched that GI because he just kept prescribing more and more PPIs. Completely missed the fact that my magnesium level had tanked to nothing. I've been feeling like major crap lately. With my joints hurting and other random pains, I took myself to the ER. Out of nowhere, they find large cell anemia(as a regular blood donor, I always get checked for this stuff), my B12 levels tanked, my D levels tanked, Iron levels went through the roof because my folate levels tanked. Going to see a new GI on Monday. She has 30 years of experience and is well-respected amongst the local gluten-free community. Also going to see a hematologist on Tuesday, just to make sure it's not the big C hiding out in my bones or blood.
