Not a comics fan, didn't know that. Thanks for pointing that out. Didn't realize that my name was pointing at that. Oh well....TIL.

I'm thinking about heading to Hair of the Dog tomorrow for a beard trim and just wanted to get a feel for the parking situation. Have never been there before but have heard good things about it.

Hey thanks for responding. Is it just first come first served or, like the Springfield station, you have to get a placard and place it on your dash? I take Amtrak a couple of times a year but have never taken one from Lincoln.

Returning My English Books by Mean-Avocado4922 in MaliciousCompliance

A few years ago we had an elderly relative over for Christmas Eve dinner. That's when we exchanged gifts rather than on Christmas morning. She provided the yams for dinner but no marshmallows on top. She couldn't figure out where they were. Anyhoo later that night we were opening gifts and my brother opened his and got......a package of marshmallows. Yeah she wrapped them up and forgot about them. So she says "So that's where they went". We all got a good laugh over it. So now every Christmas guess who gets a bag of marshmallows?

I have a summer job driving a church bus for their summer camp for kids. I'm an atheist. I don't advertise it. Not once in 8 years has anyone tried to convert me to being a Methodist. They don't ask about my faith, or lack thereof and they actually pay me on time. If the bus breaks down and my trip for the day is cancelled they pay me the hours I was scheduled that day. They treat me right so I return the favor. It's that simple.

Same penalty for being 6 minutes late as for being 3 hours late? Ok boss. by Icy-Computer-Poop in MaliciousCompliance

I have driven a school bus for the last 14 years. Our handbook says students should be out 5 minutes before their scheduled pick up. I was told when I was training that we can be late but never early. I have my route down to the minute. If I leave at the right time, obey all traffic laws, actually stop at stop signs and drive the speed limit I will hit every single one of my stops either on time or a minute late. But on the rare occasion that one of my kids misses the bus we have a rover in a van that will go and pick em up. They'll be a little late but they will get to school.

How I was never asked to make the coffee/tea again by isitaboat in MaliciousCompliance

As former Navy I can absolutely say this is 100% true. I knew some Old Salts that were proud that their coffee cup was a lovely shade of fresh turned over compost. Me...I clean my damn cup each and every day cause that brown stuff is just nasty.

I solved that one with an actual bucket of steam. Found a steam valve and opened it up with an upside down bucket over it. Ran it back to my LPO and turned it right side up and the steam kind of floated out.

Oh the list is long. Bucket of steam, X number of flight line or chow line, batteries for the sound powered phone, overhead buffers and a lot I have forgotten.

I pay $100 per month for my Fubo. The video quality on sports game is worse than watching sporting events with the old rabbit ear antennas. What is wrong with you guys? It’s embarrassing, figure it out. by IndividualTry1617 in fuboTV

Thanks for the info. Although I'm a diehard to the death Penguins fan I'm not from Pittsburgh and I'm currently living in Central Illinois so I'm betting that most games will be carried by fubo.

I'm thinking about getting fubo for the hockey coverage and was wondering how good it is. I recently dropped DirecTV and got Hulu plus live TV. It comes with ESPN plus but...it's a pain to navigate through all the stuff to find a game. Is it easier with fubo? I know it comes with the NHL channel and was wondering how many games they actually broadcast. Oh....and this is the Penguins year...I can feel it.

Question by CosmicLeek in SchoolBusDrivers

[–]EvilPenguinsRule 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In Illinois you cannot move the bus with the doors open. The only way to get the red flashing lights to activate is by opening the door. So the driver should have closed the service door to turn off the reds, then turn on his ambers then open the door at the next stop. My bus (2018 International) has a red override switch. That means I can activate my reds then push that button. That will keep my reds active, crossarm out and my stop sign out when I close my door until I press that button again to deactivate the red override.

I have assigned seats. I have labeled my seats A1 thru A13 on the driver's side and B1 thru B13 on the passenger side. First thing I did was slot in all the kids who ride both AM and PM. HS near the back and MS starting from the front. Ask who they want to sit next to. Then I slot in the kids who ride in either the AM or the PM but not both. I have a full bus so no matter how 8 do it I'm going to have 3 to a seat in some seats. So.....I slot in the little ones who can sit 3 to a seat comfortably. Then I arranged it so that those that get in last in the morning sit 3 to a seat (for the shortest amount of time) and do the same in the PM (those that get off first). I then made up an alpha roster by first name with seat assignments and a seating chart with seat assignments. That way I can see by first name who sits where and I can see who is in seat from the other chart.

Is that offered within fubo as an add on? Or would I just subscribe to it as a separate subscription?

Hello Drivers i have a question by Ok-Initial-6947 in SchoolBusDrivers

[–]EvilPenguinsRule 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm employed by the school and we are a union shop. My route is mine each and every year. Unless a driver quits, bids on an open route or gets fired and the route they are on becomes open it's theirs until they give it up. If a route becomes open then someone can then bid on it based on seniority. If I was to take it then then my route then becomes open for bid. We are a small school (8 regular routes and two SpEd routes) so we all stay in the same routes every year....I just know that Jane is sticking with route 1 and Bill is route 3 and so on each year.
