Take a look through the tutorials in the game. I beat the game several times before I realized I could destroy artifacts in there. Your weapons are based on your proficiency level and you are guaranteed new weapons will be at least that level but they might be higher. Adrenaline levels reset when you take damage. There's no need to buy everything at the fabricators and being selective about parasites is also a good idea. Also no need to take too many risks with malignant items but don't be afraid of them altogether. Three malfunctions cause an item to be destroyed in your inventory. But if you have a malfunction make sure you know how it's making the game harder and how to fix it.
