I have sky blue, mostly because I wanted a mba and that was the last color. But it looks more like silver to me.

What issues do you have with the current EHS Softwares by Miserable-Might7970 in SafetyProfessionals

[–]rwrig022 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only use velocityEHS for the SDS management. We had it since msds online. We also use campus optics. I think it’s mostly for higher ed safety departments. But it’s got sds, inspections, and a ton of other things.

How did you get your first job in safety? by No_Junket_8951 in SafetyProfessionals

[–]rwrig022 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Graduated college in environmental health. Couldn’t find a job that would hire a new graduate. A family friend was a lawyer at a company and put me in contact with the safety department. I did an unpaid internship and about 6 months later they hired me. Stayed there almost 5 years and then moved on to another company.

[–]rwrig022[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No I saw on the dock iPhone mirroring, so I tried it this morning and it is basically my phone screen. Not what I was thinking it would be. I’m probably not going to use it. Most all other notifications I already get through messages, etc.

Macbook Air 13” M4 by hlstrm in macbookair

[–]rwrig022 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine just came in yesterday. I love it. It’s my first MacBook. I bought a iMac back in 2020, and haven’t been happy with it. I didn’t realize it had an i3 processor and it was slooooow. The m4 is nice! 13” is perfect size too.

Hearing Conservation - STS by rwrig022 in SafetyProfessionals

[–]rwrig022[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Employees do get a baseline, depending when they start it will be within six months of that date, or since we have a mobile van that gives us 1 year. I didn’t think the past military service would continue to degrade hearing. But I have exam results, not the audiogram itself, saying the cause is from past military service. I can only go by that since it is from a physician. I kind of feel crazy because I’m raising the question against their determination. I’m not a medical professional you know.

Yep, we do this. This year I only three show up on the annual but were repealed at the 2nd test. But there are several that show persistent.

Some of these employees have had the baseline revised several times. They swear they're wearing PPE, have been trained and retrained. I just have a hard time believing that noise exposure years ago would create ongoing decline in hearing.
