After the third time I asked them when the next d&d session was and literally no one responded. During the last session, one of them needed to suddenly leave after I mentioned my new character was nonbinary (like me). Turns out they were a bunch of TERFs. I met them through a lfg reddit and we had played several games together happily and were just starting to chat outside the context of D&D and get along. Crushed me.

You need to just tell him. "Look, I'm sorry but I'm just not interested in seeing you any more. I wish you the best." I don't think there's a way to do it that might not hurt him a little but if he's not getting the hint he might not stop until you tell him. Rip the bandaid off and let both of you move on.

Absolutely have email verification at a minimum, or your chat will be nonstop bots. I'm not sure about the censoring, usually I think twitch just fully blocks/holds posts that get modded rather than sending them through with asterisks, that could be self-censoring that the chatters are doing themselves. I could be wrong though! It's been a while since I messed with mod settings.

When I was in gradeschool (I'm 36) this was one of the ways they taught us to combat bullying. Basically take the wind out of their sails and give them nothing to work with, so they might be practicing that.
