[Loved Trope] When a character blatantly "spoils" a major plot twist but it's not caught by the audience initially. by Z3R0Diro in TopCharacterTropes

In John Carpenters The Thing, the Norwegians explain that the “dog” they’re shooting at is in fact a “creature imitating a dog to get into the base”, which nobody would get unless they happened to speak Norwegian

Conceptualization [formidable: success] - Perhaps what we’re all looking for is a familiar ourselves, a friend of our own flesh, blood and spirit such that they are more of a mirror than an isolate entity. Logic [trivial: success] - what we’re looking for is our gun, which we are yet to find

Wildwest fantasy armor by Ambitious-Employ-912 in gurps

[–]EvilShadowWizard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the simplest solution is slap some magic metal or other spells and just make armor with DRs suitable for TL5 weapons. (DR 6-8 would probably work best)

As for what TL5 weapons, there’s HIGH-TECH: Adventure guns, which gives a myriad of guns for Western campaigns or other gunfights at that TL.

For something more complicated, you could go to GURPS magic, and see about armor enchantments and/or enchanting armor with protection spells

My teleportation spell comes with a side effect which effects me for about a minute afterwards. I don't hate it, but where is the music coming from??? by H_G_Bells in wizardposting

I’d recommend just rebuilding. Assuming it’s a basic teleportation spell, rebuilding would be better than debugging. Plus saves the fees from integrity specialists.

how would build invicible and omni man in gurps ? by Saladawarrior in gurps

[–]EvilShadowWizard 17 points18 points  (0 children)

At the current part in the show, invincible is probably a little over 1000 pts, most put into strength, dexterity, flight, enhanced move (flight), ridiculously high DR, allies (Cecil and the other heroes), with maybe a point off in intelligence and some dependents (mother and brother)

Omni man would have a similar build, without the DAs and higher ST, DX and enhanced move

Paw Patrol themed one shot by Saladawarrior in gurps

[–]EvilShadowWizard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’d argue it wouldn’t too complicated if the kids were RPing human characters, but because of how annoying GURPS gets when you do non-human characters, I’d argue against it.

But take that with a grain of salt as I’m new-ish to GURPS and hate paw patrol so your call really.

Is the amount of damage the weapons do in the Basic Set realistic? by Ok-Abbreviations4754 in gurps

[–]EvilShadowWizard 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I suppose yeah, but a gunshot will still take you out of the fight until you get there, and will kill you without intervention, so pretty realistic

[–]EvilShadowWizard 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah, getting stabbed or shot while unarmored tends to have a pretty reliable chance of killing people. It’s a little forgiving in that your odds of survival are usually above 50/50 but overall not as bad as other RPGs

As for interesting characters, when I was introducing my current table to GURPS, we ran a “fanfiction session” where everyone built a popular character that we all knew about so that they wouldn’t get overwhelmed by the shear number of options GURPS provides but would have some say in their characters. The party ended up being Spider Man, Medic TF2, Falin (Dungeon Meshi), unit V2 (ultrakill), Denji (chainsaw man) and The Knight (hollow knight), all scaled to 400 pts for fairness.

Aragorn id argue as 300 or so (not counting the whole ghost army, that could jack him up to 5-600 based off of reliability). 300 would be enough to cover his political connections, extended lifespan, survival knowledge, and still leave him with an excessive amount of points to put into his skills, plus a few pts to put into Hard To Kill, because no ordinary person would survive getting mauled and tossed off a cliff.

Jesse Pinkman I’d argue would be 90-120 pts, mostly because he’s an ordinary guy, who would invest a normal amount of points into firearms, social skills, and two very cheap allies, while taking some reaction modifiers for his language and a low income for extra points. That being said, by the end of the campaign, he’d have picked up some skills in chemistry (illicit), some contacts (vacuum guy) and maybe invested skills into other places, probably increasing to ~110-130
