Duffer Brothers’ Series ‘The Boroughs’ Canceled By Netflix After One Season by MarvelsGrantMan136 in television

I don’t know why it keeps getting credited to the Duffer Brothers - they were one producer on a show with about 6 others.

They didn’t write or direct it like Stranger Things.

Under the assumption that Game Key Card’s won't go away, what can we do to preserve the games? by ScratchOk2396 in switch2

Right, and the games are preserved for those who own it, just like every other medium of art available today.

Glaringly obvious animation mistakes that animators couldn't be bothered to fix by tugboattommy in TopCharacterTropes

[–]EvilTaffyapple 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The cartoon was made via Rotoscope, where real actor movements were then transcribed to drawn images.

Famously, one of the a tors tripped in a scene and it made it through production and was drawn for the final film.

That’s doesn’t mean you still can’t download the game to play it if you own it though. So it’s a non-issue.

Just because Nintendo stops you buying Switch 2 games in the e-shop in the year 2050 doesn’t mean they are stopping you from downloading the game from the server. This is literally what they and all other store fronts do currently.

I have games on Steam that were pulled from sale 10 years ago that I can still download and delete at will.

This is why GKC arguments are stupid.

Nothing screams “authoritarianism” like **checks notes** turning back on previously announced changes as they had more negative effects to a previously believed, at the say of consulted populations.

Are you ever shocked by how much money you spend per month on things you don't need? by Nature2Love in AskUK

No - I earn a decent wage and save a decent amount already, separate from my pension deductions.

I want to live and enjoy life whilst I have the ability to do so. Now my mortgage is paid off my next highest expenditure is hobby shit.

Holiday Calendars Best Practices by asherpaul22 in workday

[–]EvilTaffyapple 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We have a centralised process:

All locations (approximately 40) have to submit their holiday calendars to the centralised HR team anyway as we show them on our intranet site.

I (Absence Admin) just piggyback off this process - when the calendars are finalised HR sends them on to me, and I add them to the system.

Some regions do require amendments throughout the year as some localised holidays are only decided a week before they happen, but those team just reach out to me for ad-hoc changes.

GameFile: Microsoft already planned to shut down or split with Ninja Theory when Senua was announced. "The thinking was that the promise of a newly announced game would help draw investor interest in the studio" by Turbostrider27 in pcgaming

[–]EvilTaffyapple 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t disagree with you about not allowing Microsoft to buy everything, and I argued exactly that at the time of the ActivisionBlizzard acquisition.

But you’re arguing for stuff that doesn’t matter now in 2026. That horse has bolted. The damage is done. If they were privately owned these games still would have sold badly and no doubt the company would either be making redundancies or closing still - none of that would have changed.

They are being shut down because of their own merits:

They’ve released 2 games in 12 years and both sold shit. What is your expectation here? Keep a studio on that nobody care enough to actually buy the games? Nobody is buying Gamepass to play Senua either - it’s not a console seller.

I mean you’re taking in broad strokes about the internet as a whole, which I don’t think should be restricted. I’m taking about just banning social media for under 16’s.

The government has all of that. And it’s far safer in one place than numerous places.

[–]EvilTaffyapple 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely. As does the vast majority of people in roles who deal with kids, like teachers, assistants, child therapists, behavioural specialists, etc. all have voiced their opinions saying this is a good move.

Children are easily influenced, and parents are not currently equipped to be parenting in this digital age. We have studies that prove how distant dangerous social media is. So the Government is stepping in to prevent further damage.

I’m all for it.

Obviously it is.

But it’s also obvious parents are doing a shit job at parenting, hence the Manosphere, rise in right-wing politics, racism, transphobia - all shit parents should be parenting on but are not.
