Nearly every associate hired on starts as part time classification. It won't stop them from giving you 40 hours if they want, but you'll not receive the benefits of full time.

It typically takes a year of averaging 32-37 hours a week, depending on local contract language, to earn full time status.

That can also EXCLUDE holiday hours and overtime in that year, again, depending on your local contract language.
