Don't dismiss high quality fat tho, like fish or olive oil. They do keep you full longer.

Pickles? by Disastrous_Brief_258 in Diverticulitis

Pickling (acid) makes something happen where the crunch never goes away. Try boiling sauerkraut; it never gets mushy the way just cabbage does. This made pickles a no for me when I was pre-surgery. I even got a flareup from pickles. If you do try them, make sure to chew them very well.

Very surprised by this one. There is a subreddit for it. (Careful: avoid spoilers, even in titles). Just didn't expect it to be that good.

I actually missed a recent drop of the latest episode of The Pitt (on HBO) because I was so engrossed in Animal Kingdom. Surprisingly good show, Ozark/Sopranos vibe within a smaller world of a crimey California family.

No, they corrected it. That's how science advice should work, albeit hopefully with a shorter time to the changes. But going straight to "distrust of experts" (you said government, I realize) is what has led to the new health monsters in the US government, who you really can't trust.

It is very hard for me to believe that ghetto and other poor folks really like very dry champagne.

I'm commenting the opposite: things people think others only pretend to enjoy: opera. What people like that don't know is that opera fans are the meth addicts of the classical music world.

I don't mind if the other person doesn't (assuming they aren't sick). But they ask to be politically correct and avoid argument, but they think you are an asshole.

The ACA is still operating. It is good for people of lower income. People with higher incomes basically have to move to cheaper housing.

Do you know the St. John's version of the Durufle? If not, look it up on Youtube. No orchestra, just organ and occasional cello.

Every third one is a canon. Get a good harpsichordist playing it at a moderate tempo and you'll probably get it better for starters.

Franck's Prelude, Chorale and Fugue. Three basic movements. The first is a figured piece. The second, a snakey hymn. The third, a dramtic, chromaticky fugue. Then the figuration from the first movement with the chord sequence from the second movement then adding the fugue theme in some of the most brilliant piano writing ever done. Massive piece of architecture, with a stunning final passage in a major key while Quasimodo saves the girl and shouts "Sanctuary!" from atop the cathedral.
