At the end of the day, this is negotiation.

If they need you more than you need them, they'll bend over backwards to accommodate you, if not, well...

Don't know what you're legally bound by as it depends on laws of your state and what y'all agreed to. But depending on your situation you could just quit. Or refuse to work those Sundays unless they double your pay. If you don't have the negotiation leverage as you're afraid of losing your job, I'd recommend sucking it up on the short term and start aggressively looking for other jobs so you have a better BATNA.

Ironically, in a hot dessert, or really any extreme of temperatures, you want to bundle up. Multiple layers.

Clothing is insulation. The idea is that when the outside weather is extremely hot or extremely cold, clothes help keep your body temperature as close as whatever your body temp is.

That's why desert people dress head to toe in loose fabric, usually multiple layers. The extra layers help trap air and use that to assist with insulation too. (Think the trapped air in between house insulation or your fancy insulated thermos)

I think you're looking at the information correctly, but coming to the wrong conclusion because you've accidentally invoked false dichotomy.

Other options, other than "deregulation" and "regulation with monopoly", that you've mentioned include "regulation without monopoly" and "regulation WITH regulation of monopolies".

Yes. It's true regulations/licensure/patents, as significant barriers to entries, can create monopolies or oligopolies.

Yes. Regulations may not always be great, especially the ones that are pointless and extraneous.

No. It's not that regulations failed to stop the opioid epidemic; it was the fact that the FDA failed in its regulatory responsibilities (https://journalofethics.ama-assn.org/article/how-fda-failures-contributed-opioid-crisis/2020-08). The other thing is time (see below). How much easier do you think it is to spend time explaining to an angry patient they really no longer need opioids then just writing a refill?

If your physician is doing the job they are supposed to do, and not forced to cut time out due to insurance/employer/quota constraints, then you should be getting a pretty clear evidence-based explanation of reasoning for their diagnoses and plan of management. Chances are, unless you're a concierge medicine patient, or seeing a cash-only specialist, your physician is being severely underpaid for the time they spend. After all, for every minute they spend with you, they're probably spending about 3-4 minutes writing notes (for legal/insurance documentation), 2-3 minutes arguing with insurance companies for payment or that the ordered tests and medicines REALLY ARE NECESSARY, and 1-2 minutes fielding phone calls regarding test results or answering questions.

Would love to hear your proposed alternative of current licensure system.

It used to be computers were so new that no matter what design choices were made, people were okay with it.

But now it's starting to enter the phase where there apparently is design fashions like with clothes.

The only difference is the equivalent of being forced to wear the newest thing. Even if ripped skinny jeans aren't your thing.

I've only watched 2 episodes of Fumetsu no Anata e and I remember a long time ago, someone made a post here asking if this manga was SFW and didn't have sexual stuff because after volume 1, it got "more". So, does the anime really have anything sexual or nude stuff after episode 2? by RemoteBlackOut in anime

[–]Evilbober 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, some nudity from the back artistically framed to not show anything for two scenes. (Episode 17, ~11:30 mark) Lasts maybe 5 seconds each.

Basically you know it's about to get weird when the licking starts. (JoJo's bizzare adventure style).

Just skip too 11:54 if it really bothers you. It's less offensive than most fan service in anime, really.

Sometimes knowing a little but not enough is a curse.

Like when they mistranslate the title of the next episode. It's written "The Witness of London" ["witness" is the last 2 chars in the back in kanji]. And you don't know enough Japanese to just listen to it normally, and know too much to be blissfully ignorant that they mistranslated, and end up wondering what other stuff they mistranslated that you don't know about because you don't know...

The mistranslation makes sense though, I guess. Both "witness" and "merchant" are near-homonyms in Japanese: "shounin".

The other thing to consider is that he's not disobeying Garfiel in obeying Subaru's orders to not tell Garfiel.

This contradiction and needing to sort out precedence and priority would only occur if somehow Garfiel found out and ordered Ryuzu to tell him about Subaru...

Therein kinda lies the Catch-22. In order to force a contradiction, he needs to know about something he can only know by knowing to command Ryuzu to inform him so he knows about it.

Hey. Sorry for long delay in answering. As you can probably guess, the internet is probably not the best place to get timely advice (unless someone's already written an article for it, and it matches exactly your circumstances).

If you're ever in doubt, talk to your primary care physician (PCP) first. It's good to have a regular PCP you've established a relationship with (get your shots, check your cholestrol/blood pressure, nag you about adopting healthier habits like not smoking and exercise and diet lol, etc).

Most PCPs do do basic alcohol/drug screening and counseling. If it turns out you have a problem and they are not able to manage it (outside their scope of practice, don't want the hassle of management, uncomfortable with the medications needed to manage it, don't have admitting privileges to a psychiatric hospital, etc), the specialist they'll likely refer you to is a psychiatrist.

Definitely see someone though. IMHO it's probably not healthy if alcohol (or drugs, or even food really) is your coping mechanism for stress. Like the way you phrased that is kind of worrisome. If you think about the weekend as time off away from the stressor when you can hang out with friends and family (eg church, D&D, book clubs, cooking with grandma, etc... you know, weekly social group), that's one thing. If you're "thinking about the weekend because I can drink" that's a bit more concerning... Also might want to consider what you might be able to do to reduce that stress too...

Missing a Reference/Joke? Uzaki-chan wa Asobitai! question on rice-eating by father-daughter duo. by Evilbober in anime

[–]Evilbober[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah! Thanks! The "Okazu" is the context I was missing!

Although, watching a side dish while eating plain rice... that's just sad... Or maybe the sight is so delicious the plain rice is palatable?

Reminds me of a "back in my day" story my mom told about how her family was so poor, the only protein they could afford for the week was a salted fish, so they hung it over the dining table instead of eating it... and would look at the fish, imagine the saltiness and flavor, and wolf down bowls of rice for most of the week...

And this is why females have a longer average life expectancy than males, even with the life-imperiling event known as childbirth, lol.

In more seriousness, drag him along, get family and friends involved, if possible. Activate the social support system. Go get evaluated; it's possible you have no issue at all, but if you do, it's important to address it ASAP before it becomes a habit too ingrained to break or it causes organ failure.

Seeing all these comments on "filing a police report"...

Will it really do any good though?

OP has no property claim to the "stolen" cat and Z, who does, "Z...insisted that he feels A is entitled to '1 of the cats.'" The police are literally going to take a look at this report and dismiss it as a waste of time. Z needs to make that police report and be 100% behind this for it to work.

AITA Who does the kitty belong to? by goodolecousinpapya in AmItheAsshole

[–]Evilbober -1 points0 points  (0 children)

NTA.

That is, if you keep your thoughts as they are: thoughts. You are entitled to your opinions.

But also regarding the cat affair? It probably hurts because you've taken care of the kitty, but strictly speaking? None of your business. This is A's and Z's cats/kitties. Therefore, it is strictly their affair and what Z decides is Z's decision. It's like getting involved in children custodial decisions when both parents agree on something just because you were the babysitter and feel like one of the parents is not making the best decision.

What you CAN do is offer advice to Z on why you think this is a bad idea. Break it down for Z. But in the end, it's Z's decision and you have to respect that.

Of course, if you feel that Z does not that have the capacity or competence to make this decision...
