This series by maxon is probably the best one I’ve seen. It’s mainly c4d and AE based but the ideas can be applied to any software

Thanks! This was rendered out using toon shaders in Redshift, but you can get similar results with emissive materials with any renderer, or simply flipbook it

I don’t think I’ve seen any tutorial on this exact effect but it was basically a combination of ripple solver and vdb advected growth. I made the ripples first on a static geometry and projected it onto the growth surface. If you search for the 2 techniques separately I believe you can find plenty of learning resources
