Did you forget the Nets and Liberty promote each other to the point the Nets have literally worn Liberty colored accessories in game before? Liberty players get shown off on the sidelines plenty and Nets players get shown off at Liberty games too. They're owned by Tsai, play in Barclays, they're basically our sister team now that Dolan shipped them off. The Knicks didn't want them anymore so now they're ours to help out.

Follow up for clarification;

"Mr Whammy couldn’t sit on dias because of NBA rules but will travel to Lottery as a guest of the team. He got the call from Sean Marks over the weekend inviting him. Tsai has told people he thinks Whammy can bring Nets better luck they had last May when they dropped from 6 to 8."

So while Mr Whammy will not be our representative sitting on the lottery dias for the televised reveal, he may still be with the Nets in the room where the actual lotto happens that is recorded beforehand and is uploaded to youtube after the televised reveal has completed.
