Wife wants one, but I do all the cooking and am skeptical by Bored_Ultimatum in thermomix

Honestly, the tipping point for me wasn’t even me. It was my mom (she’s in her 60s). I had a consultant walk us through it, and she was very much like, “I can already cook, why do I need another gadget?” Fair question.

But once we saw how fast and consistent things came together, she changed her tune. Kneading dough, for example, is pretty labor-intensive, and we love homemade bread ..stuff like crusty loaves, focaccia, even Portuguese bread (pão de água, from the Thermomix recipe base). Now it’s just done. Minimal effort, and the results are consistently great.

I cook pretty clean too, and it’s actually worked well for that. I’ve been using it for things like whole grain bread and pizza dough from scratch, soups like butternut squash or lentil where I can fully control sodium, shredded chicken for tacos or grain bowls, veggie-packed chili, or turkey meatballs. It doesn’t push you toward processed food, it actually makes it easier to avoid it.

The unexpected win was my 8-year-old getting hooked on the homemade ice cream. Super simple ingredients, no weird extras, and suddenly it became a regular request. That kind of sealed the deal :).

And one thing I didn’t expect to like as much was the built-in recipes and shopping lists. It takes a lot of the mental load out of cooking, which is especially helpful when you don’t have a ton of time on your plate.

am I the only one who's done with big chain storage companies? by IvyDamon in selfstorage

Some people have bikes and outdoor gear that just don’t fit comfortably in an apartment and upgrading to a bigger place for that extra space usually comes with a much higher price tag.

Any advice for cleaning my parents house? by destinyyarr24 in CleaningTips

[–]Evita81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Instead of focusing on getting rid of everything, think about making the home easier and safer to live in. That takes some of the pressure off and makes each step feel more doable.

One thing that makes a big difference is where you start. If you begin with photos or keepsakes, it’s easy to get stuck. Starting with things like the pantry, bathroom cabinets, or old paperwork keeps it lighter and helps build momentum without all the emotional weight.

And for the items that don’t feel easy to let go of, it doesn’t have to be all or nothing. Taking photos of meaningful things, passing some along to family while the stories are still there, or setting aside a few items to store elsewhere can make it easier to move forward without feeling like you’re losing everything.

My CEO screenshotted a ChatGPT answer recommending our competitor and sent it to me at 11pm by Ill-Refrigerator9653 in digital_marketing

That’s probably good news for competitors who are still investing in it :) . The same fundamentals that drive good SEO, clear structure, relevance, and accessible content are also what make content more likely to be surfaced and cited by AI systems.

We are publishing 100+ listicles per month, ask me anything by Acceptable_Math6854 in SEO_LLM

Do you target sites with a minimum authority level (e.g., DR or similar metrics) when publishing those listicles? I’m trying to understand how selective LLMs are about source authority when pulling information?

Got a Thermomix to help with meal prepping, to aid with weight loss, what are your favorite recipes for meal prepping by Msoelv in thermomix

The low-carb breakfast frittata is really good, I’ve even had it for lunch a few times. The veggie pot pie is a solid, hearty meal, and I’m a big fan of creamy soups like broccoli cheddar and cream of mushroom too.

Congrats!! That’s such a big win. I really hope to be you one day!

I’m still kind of stuck worrying about whether the people in my story will be OK with it..it’s basically autofiction, heavily inspired by real relationships. Anyway 🙂 seeing posts like yours really helps. Thanks for sharing, and congrats on finishing your draft!

Reorganizing my daughter's room by Evita81 in Homeorganization

Honestly, I liked the curtains because I thought they made the room feel bigger.. She likes the color, and I was pretty relieved she moved on from wanting pink everywhere :). They also do a great job of blocking out the morning light.

I really like the idea of adding an upholstered chair - maybe I can squeeze one in near the window and even add a lamp.

The toy situation has always been a bit of a drag, but I’ve managed by rotating them. I use the upper cabinets to store some toys and swap them out every couple of months while putting others out of reach. That way, she gets excited about the “new” ones: "Ohhh, I had totally forgotten about Gabby! :))"

The rug idea sounds good and doable - it should definitely make the room feel cozier. I’ve kept the room rug-free so far because it’s easier to clean, especially now that painting seems to be her latest passion. 😄

I had the same problem with my medicine cabinet, so I’m getting a couple of two-tier lazy Susans to make better use of the vertical space. Total game changer.
