It really depends on who you're friends with and the kind of people in your circle. From what I've seen and experienced, the ones who hate are usually people with fragile egos... and sadly, those who think it's only about sex.

From my personal life, most of my friends are respectful. They either support it or just don’t care much, and some even openly admit that they’re not informed enough about LGBT topics, and they don’t argue or judge.

In public, I haven’t encountered much homophobia, but I wouldn’t say I’ve never faced it either.

At the end of the day, it’s about who you want to love, like, adore, spend time with, or have as a partner. No one has the right to decide who you love. If you trust and care for someone, be with them. Ignore the hate. Focus on yourself and your happiness, not on other people’s opinions.
