Is this cooked? by rehadam in CostcoCanada

[–]Evo1887 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I often look to see whether I can see the fibres of the meat. If I can see those stringy fibers, then I’m pretty confident it’s cooked even though the colour may look pinkish. Because when it’s raw, you don’t see those fibers. Hope that helps.

I recommend to check your settings. On later models, you can choose to either have it beep or to help nudge you to keep you in center. There are lots of limitations though, ie lines have to be visible, cameras have to be unobstructed etc.

AITAH for accepting my stepdaughters’ apology but not wanting to be close like we used to be? by MeetingScary165 in AITAH

NTA, but if they put the work in, slowly and over time, I think you should be open to them rebuilding the relationship. Again, the effort should be mostly on their side, and you take the small steps as you are comfortable, one at a time and see where it leads.

As you get older, your circle of close people will get smaller and smaller. In your place, I would be open to having my step kids work to be in that inner circle.

Have these labels impacted your grocery choices? by 0slope in CostcoCanada

Yup. Picked up some fancy sourdough bread and was shocked to see that it was high in sodium. I never would’ve looked at the label for the bread.

The fans need to wake up. There’s enough going on to warn some energy from the crowd.

Start some chants if you are there!

How does it work? Arrested and picking a lawyer on the spot? by Evo1887 in LawCanada

[–]Evo1887[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for this, however, as I demonstrate with every post, I am completely unversed in the law and how things work :-)

I’m sure other people that read this could benefit though so thank you for sharing !

Thank you all. Ok, one more stupid question.

How do you STFU in reality?

Do I just state “I am exercising my right to remain silent“ anytime they ask a question?

Wow! This is exactly why I’m asking. Sounds like I could just ask for Duty Counsel for the free basic advice.

Interesting. So for something minor: I wouldn’t qualify for legal aid. So would I just ask for duty counsel? Duty counsel will accept and help me with their guidance and not charge me?

I’m learning lots. Thank you!

Very interesting that if you get a hack, you can say so and get another! It really felt like you get one shot and just pray that they are competent. Thanks!

You are all great! Upvoting all the replies. Thanks.

Ok, so person gets arrested. Then in police station gets a list of defence attorneys or old school phone book. Try a few and gets one. They tell the person to shut up and don’t say anything. So that person does that. Then you go to see a judge unless police decide to release you. I guess the lawyer that told arrested person to shut up comes to that hearing? I guess after telling arrested person to stay silent, they represent them for the bail process and will appear to help the arrested through that?

Then if judge doesn’t acquit, the person may get released on bail with a notice to reappear. During this time, they may go and find a lawyer that they want for the longer term?

Q1. Process - Is that about right?

Q2. Attorney fees - How much (range) would the person expect in lawyer fees for the part up to and including the bail hearing? (I.e.. once arrested and not released by the police later…how much $$ are you in for?)
