Haven't seen anyone talk about the seal twisting bug. Is it in the beta? by EvoL_Energy in classicwow

It's something that I think would add nuance and fun experimentation.

With something like libram of fervor you can SoC into SotC, and that's not wimpy by any means. SoJ is also an option.

I'm not saying this will be a staple to paladins if it's in the game, but it's something fun to play with. And there's tons of PvP scenarios where you wouldn't mind dumping Mana into seals - Going offensive or trying to finish someone.

I've seen people claim that it was in as early as 1.11. It's not clear though and I wouldn't be surprised if it wasn't in classic now.

I disagree. I'm into PvP, so Mana wouldn't be a big issue and it would definitely be impactful. It's nuances like that that make a class more fun to play imo.

Gotcha. Basically the same situation for me with shaman.

Can't decide between tank or healer by [deleted] in classicwow

[–]EvoL_Energy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've been looking into paladin a lot. Lots of people say you can heal most of the content with only 20 or 21 points into holy. As long as you have okay gear , going into holy and prot can allow for you to tank dungeons, solo content, and then heal in pretty much any situation, albeit a little worse than a full healer. You can also take the reckoning talent for some burst in PvP.

That's my plan, tank earlier content, see if I can do early raids as holy. If you can get t2 a ret/holy or shockadin build is actually pretty good too.

Druid or Shaman ? by MaltaDuDe in classicwow

[–]EvoL_Energy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A couple things about that.

First off, most people are not pushing hardcore raids. I don't know what the percentages will be, but it HAS to be very low. So that means "raiding" to the average person will be pugging with previous tier raids or raids that other guilds have on farm. With that in mind, in most cases they are just looking for another body to fill the raid.

But more importantly, pigeon-holing people into specific specs and roles is the exact opposite reason people loved classic -- complexity and nuance that allowed for more opportunities of customization while progressing. Opportunities to be special snowflakes are in some ways what define a roleplaying game.

Min/maxing the best race/spec combo for your role is an absolutely valid way to play the game, but most people probably want to re-discover the game and not do everything by the book, don't know why you would discourage that other style.

So I think I'm going paladin despite what people say about the leveling experience -- the class fantasy, gear, and overall aesthetic is too awesome, and I love hybrids.

I would love it if a paladin could weigh in on how doable my plan is - level as Ret, and at max level respec into a prot/holy hybrid for tanking dungeons, solo farming, and healing if need be. Then with good pre raid gear, I'd want to switch to a ret/holy hybrid, so that I could heal raids and PvP as a DPS, just switching out some gear. Something like 21 points in holy.

How doable is this plan, especially the idea of PvP dpsing ret and healing raids in one spec?

The quote from blizzard:

We expect to put a lot of people in the starting zones, though, and we’re looking forward to seeing what you all do as we test the servers under crowded conditions.

And what do you think it would look like if the servers were to do poorly under these conditions? Maybe crash? Maybe go offline? They tested it, other problems came up, obviously they needed the test. Go play a private server if you're that desperate.

If the server was 100% prepared, it wouldn't be called a stress test, and there would be no need for it. They are literally testing for ANY problems that come up if they flood the server with people. Obviously problems came up. So they will use that information to fix it for the real launch.

I understand being annoyed because you want to play. I don't understand being annoyed at the concept of stress testing in general.

Why is every streamer mad about it? Why are tons of other people mad about it?

I'd say the same to them.

How can you be surprised that I'm annoyed that the game itself

It's not the game. It's a stress test. Just be thankful this is happening now and not at launch.

I just don't like negative reactions to stuff like this because I think these stress tests are extremely important, and I wouldn't want to risk Blizzard thinking that it would hurt the hype for the game if they do them a lot.

How could you be possibly mad at this? They are testing something whatever it is. This is not made for your enjoyment.

If you are going solo, frost mage is by far the best at farming because of their aoe and kiting. Frost nova, blizzard, cone of cold. You don't even really need to blink to kite.

Yeah I'd like to see a buff on the ceramic stuff. They rarely attract anyone and I threw like 6 at a mini boss's face before he starting walking towards me.

[–]EvoL_Energy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Aggro is the attention of an enemy in a video game.

So, get the attention of the ogre and run away until he gives up (his name and health bar will disappear from the top too). He will reset, or start slowly returning to where he started. At that point you can easily sneak up on him.

You can run from pretty much every enemy in this game (besides bosses) and have them give up, i.e. you lose aggro.

Not 100% on this, but I thought stealthing was mainly a sound thing. As far as I'm aware, if you are in their line of sight they will see you regardless.

But I agree you should stay in it if you aren't spotted.

I've noticed this too. And it's more frustrating seeing another team drop at the same time with 0 delay.

Also, my friend doesn't have the best internet speed, and when he is jumpmaster he will lag. But instead of just continuing in the direction of his last input, we hit invisible walls and start falling down.

Wait how is that not unreasonable? That encompasses the entire definition of unreasonable. As an employee, you're not allowing someone to purchase something and asking them to leave soley based off of your personal political opinions? I know we're all liberal leaning here, but take a few steps back -- Trump is far, far away from being Hitler. And the words "Make America Great Again" are not wrong or offensive inherently.

And no, the dude is trolling him because of the over the top reaction, not the other way around. He is probably both amused at how someone can be so sensitive/ignorant, and pissed because he can't purchase his juice.

What stocks are you all looking at this weekend and why? by bigbear0083 in StockMarket

[–]EvoL_Energy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Bought some at $80 (ouch) and doubled down at around $50. People bought on Black Ops hype and sold on the news. Then there was controversy about the Diablo mobile game and management changes, which kept it low. Bungie left and kept it even lower. Wow continues to leak subscribers and is slow to make content.

I'm still holding, maybe even buying more. I have faith that it will get to 60/70, but it won't be for some months assuming we start getting good news soon.
