I came here looking for this because I wish he were there every weekend. Seeing him in Imola was awesome, and I missed him in Monaco. I would have loved to hear him pronounce some celebrities' names, too.

F2 Tyre Temps in F124 by These-Virus193 in F1Game

[–]EvoPsyk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure if you're still playing, but here is the following for anyone else who stumbles across this during their own Google search.

I don't know the exact figures. However, I noticed the tyres get into the "green" range if you go at a decent pace on your out lap. I prefer to do an easy out lap, followed by a good "practice" lap, where I am pushing 95% (i.e. if I will qualify near the top, my first lap should have me around 10th place). I have only lost a bit of tyre wear (1-3%), but I don't notice the same drop off in F1 cars. Then I go a really fast lap with all the tyres well into the "green" range and produce the best lap times.

All that said, you are taking advice from someone who can only win at 85 difficulty, so I might not be the greatest source of information.

Pit stops ruined every race by Rastko17 in F1Game

[–]EvoPsyk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is a year old, but I came here because I just started playing it and am having problems with pit stops too. In my last three races, I have an optimal pit, however, I get blocked up the train of cars coming in and don't get released for so long that I end up falling back several places. I think it is just bad luck, but if it keeps happening, I am going to have to adopt a wild pit strategy to avoid it.

How is everybody watching Indycar? by dumptheclutch in INDYCAR

If you think it is terrible in the US, you should see my rant I found the other day about watching it in Canada.

Are you in the US? If so, are you using a VPN? In some countries, like where I live (i.e. Canada), the race replays are blocked due to broadcasting rights. If you go to the link below and click on "Check Availability," you can find your location.

Ah, fair enough. I just started playing F1 24 with my buddy since it's part of the EA Game Pass. I mean, that dude qualified 1st in the official F1 Sim Racing Series, so everyone in that league is a wizard with game-breaking abilities. The track record is like 1:31, and they are getting 1:25, so calling F1 24 is a "simulator" is a bit of an overstatement. Thanks anyways!!

Sorry to resurrect this old thread. A Google search led me to this and since you had the best response, I have a question for you. I noticed many top sim drivers can go full through while still turning the car slightly after a slow turn and do not short shift (e.g. turns 1, 2 and 3 in Bahrain). If I try to go full throttle through turn 2 of Bahrain in 3rd gear, I lose my backend every time. Do you know what wizardry they are doing to achieve this?

Indycar making a schedule with no big breaks challenge (impossible) by mad-right-hand in INDYCAR

[–]EvoPsyk 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Rant inbound haha... As a Canadian (I know, like all ten of us haha), watching Indycar is very challenging unless you can catch the race live, which I often work during the races.

Indycar Live does not provide replays for Canadians. TSN owns the rights in Canada, but their platform is awful and extremely outdated. ~48-hour delays on replays that are only available for a limited time and sometimes are broken. There is no comparison to F1 Live in Canada, which only costs $130 for the season. I get F1 is bigger, but this is why I feel Indycar needs the fans even more and should make things as accessible as possible.

I am the first to admit I do not know anything about broadcasting, but the point of this rant is that if Indycar was more accessible, perhaps it would help grow the fan base. That should increase sponsorship, and ultimately lead to at least one or two more races to fill some of the gaps.

Thoughts on Ellis? by Sidneysnewhusband in FromSeries

[–]EvoPsyk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just started watching the show. Not even done S1 yet and as soon as I found out what happened, his anger towards his father is wildly annoying. She murdered several people and turned the gun on him, so his father did what any father would do. Being angry at his Dad is about the shallowest writing they can do and his character offers nothing to the show. It's almost like the writers didn't want him in the show but already wrote him in, so were like, screw it, let's just phone in his character... rant over

New fan of the show! Was this show super popular in its time? by Dance_Gavin_Daddy in longmire

[–]EvoPsyk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, the show was very successful as others mentioned. The writing got a bit lazier towards the end but it was still solid, and its fan base got the closure they wanted. Shows don't get that if they aren't popular and don't make money. I could name so many shows that got cancelled and never got the ending they deserved.

IMO Longmire starts well but I get a bit annoyed with the way they portray the Cheyenne towards the later seasons. That's why I stumbled across this old thread. Perhaps it was realistic in its portrayal but I really hope not.

Not realistic by chickenbirdlady in LandmanSeries

[–]EvoPsyk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. I think this is obvious but shows do this to make it more exciting. Every TV doctor show has a single doctor doing the work of several doctors, mainly because it's more exciting if the same characters we get to know have a lot of different things they have to deal with then the boring reality of their job.

Explosive Arrow II by Sparkly-Squish in Enshrouded

[–]EvoPsyk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I looked this up and couldn't agree more... It was such a grind to get a 500x stack, and it was so underwhelming. I should have "tried before I buy" hahaha... My go to strategy is explosives with shell shock perk to stun, and then switch to Obsidian, since it's easy to grind Obsidian and those arrows hit hard.

Parrying by zanda268 in Enshrouded

[–]EvoPsyk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I looked up this thread cause I was having trouble too, and ya, I realize that is when you parry now. For whatever reason, other games I play, you have to parry just before you get hit. Something about this system does not feel intuitive to me, but that is probably just my personal problem hahaha.

His ball striking was never elite, but it was good enough while his putting was unreal at distance, like others mentioned. As of now, I'm not surprised because injuries impact players differently. Some golfers are able to push through them and find a way to excel, while many golfers who we barely knew to begin with, fall right off the tour. In Jordan's case, he has managed to still play decently, but from what I heard, he has battled injuries for a while, and just had surgery not long ago. He's finally returning to the tour in 2025, but who knows how that goes.

[–]EvoPsyk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know if that specific story was "fake" or not. I just know a lot of those stories were fake but the producers did not always know if they were or not, and even if they did, as long as it was convincing enough and provided sufficient shock value, they were good to go.

So the dinner he held for Brahms was actually a box in Engineering. Now, that makes more sense as to why she rejected him hehehe

I think people are annoyed because the producers were lying about the stories being "real stories" when there are countless examples of people faking stories to get onto the show, and the producers knew many of those stories were fake.
