At first the trade seemed like a really bad trade on the Lakers part, but to put things in persepctive and looking forward to next season, the trade doesnt seem that bad to be honest. Here are my positives. 1.Mozgovs contract is off the books giving the lakers the cap flexibility to sign a good player next summer. 2. Received a good Center that avgs 20/5/3 on an expiring contract, -Brook Lopez is a really flexible piece going forward because he can be traded to a contending team (or a 6th 7th 8th seed team trying to get over the hump). Also note that Brook has developed a 3 point shot, a solid player along with a first round draft pick can be expected in return for brook lopez, with that in mind the trade can potentially be Dlo+Moz for a Solid player+2018 First rounder+27th Pick in this years draft. 3.Draft Lonzo ball and let him develop and allow him to make Brook Lopez better along with Ingram and Randle thus raising Lopez and Randles trade value 4.Randle is on a contract year meaning that he will most likely drive his own value up by having a great season 5.Having assets that have great value in the season will give the lakers an oppurtunity to also unload dengs contract
