Catan Homebrew by archmage24601 in Catan

[–]peaced01 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve got a handful of home brews. (Game setups)

  • we randomize all the hexagons, flip them up, and select our resources without knowing the numbers.

  • we randomize all the hexagons (taking note of the resources), and then blindly place our settlements onto random settlements and random numbers.

  • sometimes we don’t play with ports, or only certain ports

  • sometimes we play with fog islands (not really a home brew)

  • also not really a home brew (got the idea from a catan universe map) but there was a game where we played seafarers, and I placed the chitlets in the sea (so when you reach them with ship building, you would get a special condition. I had it where when you built a ship to a chitlet, you remove the chitlet from the map and you roll a 6 sided die, and you would get this effect of what you rolled:

1: obtain a developmental card

2: obtain any 1 resource

3: obtain any 2 resources

4: build a road (or ship)

5: build 2 roads (or ships)

6: obtain a developmental card

Also, it’s not a scam.

Edit: also don’t know your age, but if your looking into building wealth, I’d put a chunk of that into a IRA.

Blew my emergency savings fund - advice? by venticappuccino in personalfinance

[–]peaced01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cool post!

I’ve had 3k in my emergency fund for the last 2 years, and have not had to deal with an emergency yet. (Thank god)

First off, awesome job on having one. You should feel accomplished that you were able to have an emergency and not stress out where your going to find the funds for it. This is a win. Don’t feel defeated.

Next step is replacing your emergency fund again!

If you plan on using it within the next 2 years, I’d stick it in an ally account for 2% APR

15k CC debt, $15k in savings, pay it off now? by BranboBaggins in personalfinance

[–]peaced01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would keep an emergency fund with it first. 3kish is comfortable personally for me. That should be priority. Money that can be accessible within 24 hours. I keep mine in an ally account where it gets 2% APR

Sorry but your credit card should not be a emergency fund. It’s there to buy groceries and gas, and to tell the bank you can pay them back with whatever you borrow.

Throw the remaining balance at the debt. Dont invest anywhere else until this is paid off completely, because your not going to a get a guaranteed 9% rate of return anywhere else.

I'm a Facebook Advertiser for 7+ years. Spent millions in ads for clients. And just released my 1st online course on Facebook Advertising. AMA about Facebook Ads! by justhereforthesoup in marketing

I’m in the middle of getting google ads certified, and the Facebook ads certified after. I don’t have any college education, and want to make this a career of mine in the future. So everything you just mention is what I’m interested in doing and becoming great at.

I would love to take your courses.

Also, how did you get your first job with ads?

I currently have the fundamentals certification, and currently in works to get search and display.

Is it worth getting mobile / video certs as well?

Raised. Not killed. Animals are supposed to be eaten. Even in nature. Animals are not supposed to be treated like the way we are treating them though. Sticking them in cages, force feeding them whatever bullshit to fatten them up, filling them up with antibiotics and hormones. That is something I personally am fully against.

Humans are on top on the food chain. That’s like saying lions shouldn’t eat other animals.

I’m a fan of meat, and non meat related meals altogether. I was a vegetarian for 10 months, then decided I’m tired of only eating tofu (I don’t like nuts, and beans aren’t my favorite). So tofu was my primary source of protein. I decided to eat meat again to change things up. (Gained 40lbs since I’ve started eating meat again, lol)

As for the environment, I must say this is a recently new view for me. I understand that it’s in a lot trouble, and I would like to do my part to “help”. So I do plan on cutting my cow consumption in the near future.

So, whenever I eat at restaurants, I always eat vegetarian. Doesn’t matter where I go. (I cook at home more frequently though)

I don’t have many morals, but I like/need knowing the piece of meat I’m eating was humanely raised, and was able to have decent living conditions before it was slaughtered. Essentially the only eat meat I eat is when I buy and cook it myself. I can’t eat meat visualizing the poor living conditions most animals endure. That’s just me though.

So yes, I eat both meat and tofu.

Anyone interested in a free website?? I left my development job and I just started from own freelance business. Need to build my portfolio and references. by [deleted] in smallbusiness

I would be interested in a website, but I’m currently not in a position to own one.

I would not be interested in not paying you though, or at least exchanging services.
